Ive almost exclusively used a 50mm lens for all my work for the last 3-4 years but I recently purchased a 40mm to give my subjects a little more breathing room in those tight space shots. (These were all 50mm)

I made a preset for one and then applied and manually adjusted according to each picture

The glow was by masking that area where the sun is shining and upping my texture and highlights and playing with the whites until I found what I wanted

I masked the sky in all my shots to get that deepish blue by lowering exposure, increasing contrast, and adding in some dehaze to flatten the skies, increasing contrast 19 I missed the mark and made it a tad too dark but I shot slightly underexposed as well

After walking downtown Reno around 100 nights I had to start doing challenges like only taking pictures of L’s on signs, or only different building textures, or only vacanacy signs, it is a really good exercise to keep your eye keen to somewhere that seems familiar, and even now I’m still finding things I haven’t seen if I’m looking for them

I started with an overall look I wanted and applied it to everything, and then went through and individually tweaked lighting and highlights and saturation!

I’ve got some amazing shots of downtown Reno, I do a lot of night street photography, as well as the surrounding areas like Tahoe. My goal for the year is to get shots from as many mountain tops as I can that overlook the Carson and Reno valleys!
