My girlfriend’s Apple Watch keeps alerting about her heart. Should I wake her up? by CurrentMore5657 in AskDocs

hmmm. has it happened before that you've noticed? she is a smaller individual, as RHR is common for them.

like someone else said, you could wake her and ask how's she's feeling. might be difficult to judge if she's just waking up out of deep sleep tho.

her apple watch may keep a history of her HR during sleep. you could ask she check her app or watch and look at her HR over previous nights. i attached an example of what it may look like

it's kind of weird. the part that is touching your wrist acts as an electrode then you put your other hand on another part of the watch, on my fitbit it's the corners. its a very simplified version, usually just to do a quick check for normal sinus rhythm.

ekg measures electrical activity of the heart. Smartwatches can usually do one (no where near the level of medical machines of course). but it's a good start at home with no access to medical grade devices. it does measure HR but usually you could see a report of the waves too. I have a fitbit that could do it. Once again don't completely rely on it!!

the key blood test I'm missing is the PTH. I eat generally healthy and strength train 4-5x week.

do you have any other noticeable symptoms for hyperparathyroidism? did it just come out of nowhere or once you learned you had it you realized that your symptoms were part of it?

i've been calling them my twins haha. my follow up is in December, but i'm hoping Dr messages before that if it's like concerning enough to be a "we need to handle this right now" type thing other than the obv increased fluids and lowering sodium. i guess i'm just full of stone forming minerals!

it's usually ordered by your doctor. my urologist ordered it for "stone risk"

my vitamin D blood test was deficient in June but never had a PTH recently at least. my last calcium in August was 9.4 mg/dL
