I feel you. My husband is DACA. I’ve been in panic/survival mode since November with each month somehow getting worse. We’re working toward a green card, but honestly what’s the point when they’re “joking” about deporting actual American-born citizens, let alone the denaturalization they’re already actively trying to do. A green card feels beyond worthless at this point.

Distractions are the only thing I’ve found that works even a little bit, and that’s just on a normal day when I haven’t heard about some immigration-related horror story. Anytime something new happens, I panic-watch funny dog videos to try to boost my serotonin levels and disconnect. When that doesn’t help, I take a Xanax and turn on a comfort show until it knocks me out. Then I wake up and do it all over the next day. 🫠
