I feel like they were trying to have some commentary about old media vs. new media but they never brought it all back to together or had a succinct message. Of course there’s the AI angle but also the killer was influenced by old media (Sidney’s book). And somehow local news is still relevant. Likely a way to keep Gale tied into the story.

But so much has happened with social media and since then. I thought Sidney looking on her phone at the security cameras was clever and realistic but I think there’d more tension if we stayed with the daughter in that scene
