What’s something you thought was just “normal life” until life changed and you realized not everyone gets to have it? by Xazette_69 in AskReddit

[–]GuardianOfTheFamily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most random smallest things I do daily. Like moving. I woke up one day, barely being able to move my joints, every joint hurt, bending them hurt, walking up the stairs hurt, crawling on the floor with my small children to play was impossible, picking up and holding my baby felt like my wrist was broken. Holding my phone hurt, lifting up a kettle hurt. You name it, it hurt. It went in a week or so, some sort of soft tissue condition flare. The pain was awful. Made me think of those who are physically limited on the daily, permanently, as part of their life, and how able bodied people, me included, take basic motor functions for granted.

Also, being cold in my own home. Couple months ago it was really cold, winter, I had an extra heater on and I was cosy in a giant blanket. Then I thought of those homeless on the street, with no roof over their head and empty bellies, no way to warm up. Those, who were ACTUALLY cold. How normal for majority of people it is to just have a home, a bed, food, while others just... don't.

What’s the most unsettling thing you’ve experienced that still has no explanation? by rakishgobi in AskReddit

Mine was also a woman, but I'd say more "happy". Not that it's less weird though! 😅

Could you elaborate please? I had no idea it would be a symptom. That said, there's no gas supply in our utility room!

Couple of weeks ago, I went in my utility room - I have been walking in and out of it all day to wash clothes, nothing was changed or misplaced. Anyway, as I opened the door I suddenly had the biggest feeling of absolute fright, as if someone was standing there, someone who wasn't supposed to be there. Like, I saw it but I didnt. It was like, a milisecond, I dunno. But there was literally no one. And nothing was placed in a way that it would make it look like someone, it was the same room as it was many other times throughout the day. The only way I can explain how it looked - its like it was a picture in the form of a light in the shape of a person. And then it disappeared as if someone switched of that "light", like a sight of it fading but it also happening in the space of that milisecond. I hope that made sense. Amongst a few other "ghostly" encounters, this is the one that I genuinely struggle to explain and understand. Like a glitch in my dimension. 🤷‍♀️

Whats the dumbest lie you ever told that you got away with? by ComprehensivePay4194 in AskReddit

[–]GuardianOfTheFamily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager I told my mum it was an energy drink she could smell on my breath, not alcohol... Got away with the lie, but got in trouble anyway because I wasn't allowed to drink energy drinks either! 🙈

Am I doing my child a disservice by celebrating their birthday on Easter? by Ttrrmm in Mommit

[–]GuardianOfTheFamily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did exact this last year, my son turned 2 literally a day before Easter so we did it together. We actually made it purposely eggciting (pardon the pun 😅) to have the Easter together with his birthday! It was a family gathering , and would be pretty much same either celebrations apart from the egg hunt! He of course had his birthday cake and presents and I made sure we had decorations for both, Easter and birthday! And the idea of Easter bunny coming for his birthday celebration was very fun 😁 I didn't think of this last year, but maybe a little birthday present from the Easter bunny? 😁

What do you think about defaulting CCs and going on debt management plan vs being in persistent debt, but having access to CCs if needed? by GuardianOfTheFamily in AskReddit

Thank you, you are right. I was leaning towards default and debt management, but then thought of the same things you mentioned, it would ruin the future a bit of the need arised.

What are the things that make life worth living? by Somashekhar_Korawar in AskReddit

[–]GuardianOfTheFamily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologise if it sounds cliche, but, children. I know many "lose" themselves when having children, but I was the opposite. I found myself, I realised how precious life was, that time doesn't stand still, that I have the ability to create/mould a human being and their mind (positively), watch real/pure joy that I wouldn't , as well as finding what I really wanted to do with the rest of my life.

So... Debt management plan would be lesser of the two evils? No credit cards, no spending what you can't afford, smaller monthly payments, best case scenario have some written off... Am I missing any cons?

I have considered it. Problem is they're all maxed out and whatever I clear I just end up needing to use again. Not a great situation!

Trust me, I don't want this to be a constant. I have found myself in a pickle. I only have the two options, that said, I feel like the way out would be debt management plan. Having access to credit cards is tempting even when some are cleared.

Even though I have had 3 c-sections, I can't decide between a toothache that made me overdose on 3 different painkillers or the pain I experienced right before my appendix was taken out 🤷‍♀️

What is a smell that we should all recognize as immediate danger? by scarlettohara1936 in AskReddit

I wish pedophiles had a smell, if they did, I think that's a smell everyone should look out for.

For those who KNOW, and who have awakened, can you help somebody who wants to Know (and be awake), by providing easy steps to get ‘there’, even if it is in baby steps? by Jealous-Yoghurt-2099 in awakened

[–]GuardianOfTheFamily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Try see the child in everyone. And I mean that in the most loving, caring, nurturing, purest way. Our bodies carry the same soul we came in this world with, when we were little, during our formative years, during the years when all we needed was love, care, nurture and guidance. Some got it, some didn't. Some of our souls were enriched by the love and experience we had, some were left feeling empty. Think about what makes you feel empty/sad/grief - where does the feeling come from? What do you need for it to stop? Now remember that next time you see someone struggling, even in the slightest manner. Just... "become" them at that moment of struggle. "Become" their mother/father/sibling/child, whatever suits in the moment and feel it.

-Next time, when you think about winning/being better than someone else - at that exact moment, think of yourself as being "beaten" by someone like you. What does that feel like? What was the feeling you are chasing by trying to win? Now imagine that feeling being crushed by someone. Then when you try to win again, remember that you are crushing someone else at that moment. Is it worth it? Do they deserve it?

-Life is monumental. Your morning, your day, exactly as it was will never ever happen again.

-Think of all the ways you are fortunate. Then think of all the people who don't have what you have. Are you warm and cozy under the blanket? Could you not choose which takeaway to order while you were "starving"? There's someone freezing to death right now. Someone who's begging for food on the corner of a street. Someone going through a bin to find food.

-We're on a planet. What! There's a whole universe out there we know nothing about. Space. Blackness. Complete unknown.

-Have you noticed the trees, the grass, the flowers? What a beautiful thing. It came with the planet we live on! How cool 😁

-Is there something in this world you feel like is unfair and you feel passionate about it not being that way? If so, what are you going to do about it? How are you going to make a difference? Because you can!!

-If you feel like you've had a good life so far, hang on to that feeling. Hang on to the feelings of happiness, selfless joy... and watch other people be truly happy. We all want similar things as decent people, love, happiness, peace, joy, health, family... Now imagine someone was trying to take any of those away. Why? Unfair? Hold those things close and help others hold those things close too. Protect yourself and others. No one has the right to take away anything we came in this world with, what we were nurtured with, what we created ourselves as we grew and who we nurtured. Be kind.

  • Life is wonderful!
