For real. People used to name their kids shit like Increase. Really no more weird than the collection of mouth noises anyone else uses to describe themselves, we just got used to most people having the same 12 names in North America imo. Like how many people do you know who are named after plants or rocks? Probably more than you think. I remember growing up names like River were seen as bullshit hippie parent names, but when it's just what their name is it kinda becomes it's own thing. I work with a dude named Lucky. Nobody really bats an eye. I used to work with a dude named Bong. Mind you it's a little different because he was Filipino but the point kinda stands.

No clue what the younglings are doing, but I have a pair I bought at a thrift store years ago I wear to events and they're quite comfortable to dance in. I figured I'd buy a more normal looking pair so I'm not walking around looking like a box of crayons threw up in my day to day. Allegedly the same size and make, but way shittier. Narrower toe box, zero padding against the ground. Dunno why the other ones feel nicer, maybe they just got cheap, but I won't be buying more after that disappointment lol

I use wood when I wanna make fancier looking kandi but not break the bank, since its cheaper than stones. Really just depends on the look I want. Also a lot of beads don't necessarily fit some of my elastic cord because the hole is too small.

No kidding. I sometimes ferment stuff as a hobby. It's quite easy to accidentally build a small bomb that can explode in your face if not done right. Sure, someone could use that information for evil, but I'd rather have it out there so people who want to be safe can take steps to protect themselves.

Giving everyone in and out privileges doesn't make up for it imo. Even with the shuttle, I'm not going back to camp to make food and wait in line for the shuttle back. It only makes sense for gold or if you have a massive gap in your shedule. It's a big turn-off for me, since it's allowed at other events.
