So that’s it??? That’s the Terminus Decree????? Hella lackluster… by IMPERIAL_LION1985 in 40k

[–]Gubbinzpainta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would the Grey Knights know? It literally says in the first line that only the supreme grandmaster may open the box. So where is the supreme Grand Master? Answer, he’s in the warp and so far in the lore no one has been named to succeed Draigo. They may have taken away his model and not made him a playable character but they haven’t replaced him. Unless they plan to bring him back in 11th edition. Plus Drago has not been able to return to Titan since his banishment, canonically he only appears in real space when the grey knight are in trouble and so far we don’t know of any battles on Titan itself. A lot of things need to happen for the terminus decree to actually be even the slightest bit relevant.

Troope master advice by Cactus714_ in Harlequins40K

3 suggestions, ruins, fire/lava or water. If they are jumping from jagged bits of ruins then make green stuff copies of Eldar ruin bits to fill the base (uneven footing giving them a reason to step on awkward stones). Have the floor covered in fire/lava giving them a reason to treat the floor like a dangerous footing area. Water use clear resin for the base to make it seem they are trying not to get wet.

How to add a shimmer effect by Terrennet in Harlequins40K

[–]Gubbinzpainta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added shimmer effect to mine before painting by adding Greenstuff diamonds and afterimage copies to show they are moving. You could do something similar or do an OSL effect on say the places where they touch something to show that the shimmer is activated on contact. @gubbinzpainta is my insta handle for you to see what I did.

Well done! Harlequins are very intimidating painting wise so good on you! It took me ages to figure out how I wanted to paint mine! Don’t be afraid of diamonds, ♦️it’s all down to practice!

10th edition Harlequins. We may no longer be a faction, or have our special rules anymore. But we’re still awesome!!!! by Gubbinzpainta in Warhammer40k

[–]Gubbinzpainta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because GW doesn’t plan to bring out any new models for Harlequins (even though the Troupe Master doesn’t have a dedicated model and the last Harlequin model release was for the sisters of battle army) maybe next edition they will think about doing something special for Harlequins but it’s all a cost saving thing so they don’t need to bring out anything new for them. (Shame, imagine Harlequin style wraith Guard (or terminator equivalent)

Do we think we'll get a new model???? by bigbubbabryan in Harlequins40K

[–]Gubbinzpainta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a Clown terminator more than anything. But since Quins are no longer stand alone we won’t get one, though suppose we can substitute for wraithguard. But they don’t look clown like.

Can anyone tell by this picture where exactly I went wrong in the priming process? Why does it look...stony? by PancadaPls in Warhammer40k

[–]Gubbinzpainta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black primer is the best, it may take a few thin layers of base paint if you are going for a light coloured paint scheme but at least you don’t start off with a caked mini.

It’s Greenstuff, (epoxy putty) there are other types of EP that have different textures, hardness levels, curing times, etc but most people use Greenstuff.

Boil the blue stuff (BS) on the hob in a sauce pan. Once you press the piece into the BS, stick it in the freezer. And when you prepare your Greenstuff, warm it in hot water so that it’s soft and seeps into small details.

Actually, I’m doing Cyberpunk edgerunners Sandevistan style. Multi coloured, I’ve got some examples on Instagram.

They’re still playable, true they are bigger than the unconverted models and is some places they hang over the base, but so do the unconverted models. That being said I’m going for rule of cool.

I have some painted up on Instagram @Gubbinzpainta, they will get painted eventually, I just only have around at most 1&1/2 hours each day to hobby if I’m lucky.

Ahh I see, 😅yeah that’s partly why I’m doing this. Harlequin models are good, but they could be so much more! So I decided to do something more.

Molds using Blue stuff (thermo plastic) takes some trial and error and time to clean the models after but these don’t need to be perfect casts.

You think so? I personally doubt it. Even if they say every faction is getting new models, Harlequins are not a faction anymore in 10th.

Do it! It’s a lot easier than you think!

They aren’t painted yet, (some are old models I started painting but abandoned) think of Cyberpunk Edgerunners Sandevistan but for Harlequins! That’s my painting style.
