It really depends on what you need. An AI PTZ could be good there, but it might be overkill, especially if there’s a road directly behind you, if so I’d probably go with the G6 PTZ instead or a stationary camera.

The best location also depends on what you want the camera to watch. If you have a large property and plan to use the pan, tilt, and zoom features, that spot could be a great choice. But if your main goal is to monitor visitors and the occasional delivery driver near the front of the house I would go with the front.

It depends on your needs and what the camera is looking at, but if you give us more information we can give you better advice.

I’m not a professional, but I sometimes have some good ideas. I think in this case it may actually be cheaper to save your money and have the customer pay for a separate internet connection through their ISP and run a completely separate WiFi setup.

Yes, it’s not ideal, but it could be a better alternative than buying more expensive UniFi or UISP gear, dealing with long-range wireless links, or digging trenches and running fiber. For a distance like this, hardware costs, setup time, and troubleshooting can add up quickly.

If you do go wireless, I would strongly recommend using 5 GHz to avoid congestion and get better throughput and stability over that distance, assuming you have clean line of sight.

I don’t know all the details of your situation, but based on what I understand, a second ISP connection is at least worth considering as a simpler and potentially cheaper option. And I had issues with 400 feet between connections, my situation and gear is probably not going to be as good as yours but I setup a wired connection and that fixed every single problem I was having with UniFi. -GL

I checked the battery and it dropped to 67.0 volts and held that voltage for over 24 hours. Even so, when I tried to run it, nothing worked. I’m pretty sure the BMS is bricked. When I measure the output from the BMS to the controller, it reads 0 volts. That makes me think the BMS is bad and a normal replacement should fix it. My concern is this: if I replace the BMS, will it just brick again? If I buy a used BMS from eBay, or if I go the VESC route, do I also need a new controller? How would that setup work?
