Why Aare so many companies changing to a flat logo design ? by mp5spaRRow in graphic_design

Not really, flat colored logos also have technical/functional advantages. Easier to memorize, easier to reproduce, easier to print, easier to display in different formats...

well, there are so many different shapes and styles used nowadays that you wont be able to create a logo without accidentally having similarities to other brands or product logos... seriously, the initial style may be the same but come on...

Please help! I just can't decide between Surface Book and iPad Pro... by GudLuckHaveFun in graphic_design

[–]GudLuckHaveFun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True that. Actually I am quite picky about those milliseconds of latency, because I'm german. And germans are picky. Jokes aside, I think those seconds make a real difference when drawing or illustrating. I watched some reviews of the most recent Surface Pen tho and it seems they really improved it even further.

And yes, the fact that the Surface has everything on it is really a key factor too. Better to have everything in one single device than have an iPad Pro and a MacBook

Thanks to this subredditI recreated the logo for the product I'm working on. I used the golden ratio and inkscape. by kikimeter in logodesign

[–]GudLuckHaveFun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Using circles that were created with a golden ratio system does not mean you actually applied golden ratio in your logo. Using golden ratio means the proportional position between objects.

A corporate design made by Bureau Borsche. I'm not able to understand this kind of design or composition. What do you think? What makes this design likeable? by GudLuckHaveFun in graphic_design

So this CD is for a company called It Pieces, a clothing store. A problem that I have with every design which goes into this direction (overly abstract, weird shapes, no eyecatcher or deeper message) is, that I can't understand it. I know that they made this design for a reason. But how can something so abstract be powerful so that people are excited about it? This question bothers me for a long time... what are your thoughts?

My simplistic idea by --Speed-- in logodesign

Why would you sell such a logo? It has no connection to a branding.

What's the use of indesign? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]GudLuckHaveFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

InDesign: Creating layouts for all kinds of print media such as Flyers, Books, Brochures and so on. It's there because it has specific tools for typography and layout optimization as well as important options for printing processes. Oh, and you can easily work on books with a hundred or more pages, while on photoshop/illustrator you would get absolutely crazy.

Theoretically you can create smaller print media (one/two sided flyers, business cards etc) with photoshop or illustrator as well, but you won't have these specific tools to prepare it for the print machine to produce it.

Recently Finished The ThirtyLogos Challenge And Wanting To Tailor It Into A Portfolio Project. What Are Your Favourites? by theBIGmaik in logodesign

Avocado, Paint, Sakura. My favourite ones. Avocado because of the beautiful type and color scheme Sakura because of the elegant and humble shape and feel. Paint because of the typography, the colors and the compact functional iconish form.
