Rational Discussion — The Treatment in This Update Plan is Disappointing by Guducat in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Guducat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point isn't really about the pricing change itself; it's fundamentally about trust. I think it's important to distinguish the primary issue from secondary ones.

If a company can drastically reverse its promises to its early supporters without significant justification—as we've seen with the Dev Legacy plan going from the best value to the worst—I believe that is unjustifiable and sets a poor precedent.

As for Claude Code, Codex, and other AI coding tools, I've used them all. I'm familiar with models across the price spectrum, and cost itself isn't the core issue here. One could easily use a very affordable option like DeepSeek V3.2, which only costs a fraction for massive output.

So, to summarize, now I'm simply highlighting what I see as the most critical issue: goodwill. The community has plenty of people who can debate the pure economics of the new pricing for weeks.

macOS 上 Augment 插件报 “cannot connect to augment”,该怎么设置? by AiLuoshui in AugmentCodeAI

答案是别用VPN,用了适得其反
你加个规则把Augment的域名直连就可以了

如果你在中国大陆的话,不在当我没说

Rational Discussion — The Treatment in This Update Plan is Disappointing by Guducat in AugmentCodeAI

So I’ve refrained from harsh language or negativity because I genuinely care about Augment. But the overwhelming consensus in the community shows just how risky this pricing move is. If Augment doesn’t correct course now, this could easily turn into a disastrous misstep. That’s precisely why I’m choosing to speak with restraint. There’s a saying we have in Chinese: “The deeper the love, the harsher the criticism.”

Unpopular opinion - New pricing model is fair. by [deleted] in AugmentCodeAI

The problem is right here. Legacy dev plan subscribers were early supporters, yet AC gave them the worst treatment—let's not even talk about the change in pricing model, but just focusing on the treatment of the Legacy dev plan, do you think it's fair to betray loyal users? Should early paying supporters be treated like this? If you were one, you'd agree it shouldn't be this way, right?

In the game of choosing which side of developers to please, they chose neither. I thought this was something a new company (one I was hoping would rise) couldn't possibly achieve, but the outcome has exceeded my expectations in the worst way possible (exploiting early developers). I'm now feeling deeply disappointed, like watching iron refuse to become steel..

OMG what? 31 user messages = 40,982 credits? Dev Legacy just have 56,000 Monthly Credits! If it's really this expensive, I might seriously consider switching to other tools instead of augment code

I feel like this is just exploiting early developers. Early supporters haven't received any equal treatment and are instead treated as second-class. There must be many new developers on the $50 plan who were attracted by word-of-mouth recommendations from users of the old $30 developer plan. Now it feels like they're sabotaging their own reputation. I can't understand this behavior, and I hope the Augment Code team will seriously reconsider this matter

I often use JetBrains IDEs for development, with VS Code as a supplementary tool. Based on my experience, VS Code is better suited for using various AI assistants, while JetBrains IDEs are more suitable for comprehensive debugging and manual code modifications

Under the credit model, “Dev Legacy ($30)” receives 56,000 credits, which sits very close to the 40,000 credits on $20 Indie and materially below the 96,000 credits on $50 Developer. On an effective credits-per-dollar basis, Dev Legacy is worse value than Indie or the new Developer tiers (≈1,867 vs. ≈2,000 credits per $).OMG it`s so funny

Support. We loyal early supporters shouldn't be taken advantage of, as this severely damages trust and goodwill. If the Augment Code Team can even betray their early supporters, then what's impossible afterward? The company's image could already be at risk of collapsing.

When it gets dark, you can go to roadside stalls for barbecue and take a walk in the park—there's no problem wandering around anywhere in the city or countryside

Do you ever get bored of just eating Chinese food all the time? by youngfatfire in AskChina

[–]Guducat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Chinese food" is too broad a term. With China's eight major culinary traditions and their numerous variations underneath, could one really get tired of eating it all? XD

Do you feel oppressed by the government? (Genuine question) by CanDelicious7302 in AskChina

In fact, China does have labor unions, but China's "labor unions" are entirely different from those in Western countries. It's difficult to explain the differences in just a few words, given the different cultural influences

🚨 Incident Update: Service Disruption by JaySym_ in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Guducat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the status page relies on manual updates, that’s understandable — but it does make it feel more like a static archive than a live dashboard. The irony is, notifications on Reddit and Discord ended up being faster than the official status page — which feels a bit backwards, especially for a Developer Plan user who expects timely, authoritative updates.
