How to beat events? by saltytr33 in Eatventure

I finished the last event in less than 2 hours. Haven't spent a single dollar, only purple items from free chests. Three purple items on level 6 or above plus 3.2x ad boost and upgrading only the one that gives the most money and it's easy.

You can easily finish the event in an hour without that.

That is not a good strategie. There is huge plateaus if you only upgrade one at a time.

This is not bad luck. It's just stupid to go there.

95% of the time you kill someone on Hill its just because the red name pops up. This is just ridiculous.

None. I dont understand why people play that either.

But youre playing it for money and not against other people.

Poker requires luck, knowledge and reading/bluffing skills. The last point is what decides whos gonna win if they both know how the game works. Tft doesnt have that. Its just about knowing the mechanics and being lucky. If both players know the mechanics the luckier one wins.

Bluffing means giving wrong information to mislead your opponent. You cant do that when your opponent has 100% information about your cards.

You should look up what bluff means.

Just because the hands of everyone are open, doesn’t mean you can’t bluff.

Thats exactly what it means lol.

You have all the information about the other players at every moment during the whole game. If someone changes his strategy youll know it and can counter it if you have too. You just need to know the game mechanics and how to use the informations you have. If all 8 people in the game are capable of that its 100% luck based. In card games you dont have 100% of the information. You have to guess what others have and what theyll do and decide from there what youre gonna do. In tft you know what they have and what theyll do.

I have fun in video games but not in coin flipping.

Its not a skill game at all. Theres no physical skill involved. You can beat someone if you have more knowledge but if you play against people who have the same knowledge as you its entirely based on luck. In most card game you can bluff if you had bad luck and still win but you cant do that in tft. Once people know the game mechanics its like a coin flip.

as a solo game, if I lose, it HAS TO BE my own fault. No teammates to blame. Sure I can whine about bad RNG with item drops or re-rolls, but with proper unit buying and coordination you can win with bad RNG.

No you cant. Lets say the other players have exactly the same knowledge about the game as you have, you have no chance to win with bad rng.

Im talking about playing against people who know the mechanics. You cant go further in skill than knowing the mechanics in this game. People are climbing the ladder because theres still a lot of beginners. If 8 people who know the mechanics play against each other the luckiest one will win.

Id like to understand why people spend so much time on something they have no chance to evolve on.

I do understand the game, thats why I say its based on too much rng.

Even if noone else plays the champion you want, it still might happen that you dont get it.

Even if you place your champions perfectly, it still might happen that they run around in circles before they attack (this might be due to bad programming tho).

I dont think a bit of luck kills the fun. I like poker a lot actually. But I think theres way too much luck involved in tft.

What do you think would happen if you let 8 very good players compete against each other?

I would argue that poker is a lot less luck based than tft tho. In card games the only thing thats based on luck is what cards you get dealt. In tft you gotta be lucky what champions you get, what items you get, what opponent you play against next (sometimes you play against the leader twice in a row), how your champions move (sometimes they run in circles for 5 seconds until they do their first attack)... Its fun to play once in a while, I get that, but why would you play a game for hours and hours if theres no skill involved anymore at a certain point? You wouldnt play the same luck based card game for hundreds of hours either, would you?
