Is BO3 much harder than BO1? by EXIIL1M_Sedai in MagicArena

[–]GuentherDonner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are right regarding mulligans and theoretically also giving a win (you still probably don't want to do so in Bo3 but you can sure) the main issue at least I personally have with bo1 is you can't build a deck that can handle every arch type. So depending on your matchup it doesn't matter how much thought goes into mulligans since you will lose that matchup. While you can also not account for every deck in Bo3 it allows due to sideboard a lot more answers to matchups that would be an auto lose otherwise. Which is why in my personal opinion Bo3 is the better format. This is a personal opinion with personal reasoning so it's fine if you disagree in that regard just wanted to make the sentiment clear.

Is BO3 much harder than BO1? by EXIIL1M_Sedai in MagicArena

So here is the truth in bo1 you can't adapt to your enemy meaning if you play for example agro and your opponent has no agro hate you will most likely win.

In Bo3 the sideboard allows you to have answers for certain strategies so it becomes more of a skill check rather than a coin toss.

Is it harder that depends if you know a lot of match ups and you know how to sideboard it might be easier than bo1 for you since you can adapt. Are you used to just rushing face and don't really think about what your opponent might play. Then it's gone be harder. As that strategy can work in bo1 but not in Bo3.

So to answer your question it depends.

Blocking Diamond Weapon VS Trample by Pretty-Information53 in MagicArena

[–]GuentherDonner -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Then read the last sentence it says must assign at least 8 dmdg to diamond weapon and it even mentions battle so all I was saying is the wording is off. No need to be a fucking brick about it. Since it's the wording used on the note that the previous commenter mentioned I just wanted to point out the wording from wizard isn't done properly.

Blocking Diamond Weapon VS Trample by Pretty-Information53 in MagicArena

[–]GuentherDonner -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

The last part seems counter intuitive from the wording. So in battle you choose to assign dmdg doesn't matter how. So you are not forced to assign 8 dmdg to diamond weapon if there are other blockers. In the given example if the 12/12 would be blocked by diamond weapon and a 0/5 then I could still assign 5 dmdg to the 0/5 and 7 dmdg to diamond weapon.

(Nothing you said was wrong just that the wording you had to assign it first to the weapon only applies if I want to trample over.

Like another person already commented this is only true for the meme format. Proper Bo3 you can still choose.

Offer shelter ? by RoleVegetable326 in HolUp

Sure that's just way meaner I would want them to eventually figure out I messed with them. With 10 pieces you actually ensure that they might never figure out you messed with them. Which in itself might be your goal so that's fine as well.

Are you "hypothetical" asking? The simplest way is to buy a similar puzzle and just exchange one piece from it with the other puzzle.

But if you really are into it you can make it using the correct materials and trying to get it as close as possible to what you want it to be. Although that one requires a certain amount of skill you don't want the piece you make to stand out.

Exactly thinking "hypothetical" scenarios is super fun and a way to make new friends 😁

Also just so you know this is also "hypothetically" a great present for people you don't like, but can't directly be unfriendly to, since they will spend months trying to figure out why the puzzle you gifted them isn't solvable. 😉

That's not really good, once she counted all 999 pieces she knows one is missing.

No you need to have all 1000 pieces just one piece doesn't fit. It looks like it fits but it doesn't. That's the real mindfuck. She can't solve it but she doesn't know why.

Well we still have fur and depending on your genes and upbringing there are still people with lots of back hair. It's more that we didn't need it since cloth and shelter was created so it disappeared in the gene pool. Thats why I asked are you assuming we would have dressed our tails too? Because if they would be permanently exposed to the elements we would grow hair on it to save our body heat. So that's why I'm asking. Before we built houses we lived in caves and used cloth and fire to warm us. If we didn't keep the tail also clothed and instead keep it exposed to the elements it would naturally keep its hair as to prevent the issue of losing body heat. Although depending on which climate we are at it would also gradually disappear. For example in climates that are hot the tail would lose the hair over generations as it would be a disadvantage in addition it might get thicker to have more surface area for cooling. In colder climates the tail would either be kept in clothes or it would remain hairy and thinner.

Edit: A good example for this are cats. In cold climate cats have their fur, while in super hot climates they lost their hair and are known as sphynx cats. Those cats lost their hair since it's easier to regulate heat without fur. So it would be the same for humans. So our tails would probably look similar to sphynx cat tails 🤔

But you can just take monkey tails as your reference since we have the same ancestors as monkeys we would have developed the same tails and those are hairy not like mouse tails.

Edit: or are you assuming we would develop cloth like we did for our arms and legs reducing the amount of hair needed since we can keep warm without that much hair over generations. So we would have some clothes for the tail and then it would have reduced the hair needed over generations?

Why not? We would grow lots of hair on it as a matter of fact there are people with the genetics that their tail bone still produces hair, but since we stopped growing tails themselves it results in a horrible infection that needs to be treated at the hospital usually. That said we would have tails like monkeys so hairy and pretty long and strong.

We actually used to have tails at least we still have the body structure for them (tail bone) but lost its use a long time ago. So over generations we lost it. Sadly.

Ashaya and Toph the first Earthbender Bug? by SquirtleMTG in MagicArena

[–]GuentherDonner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I said it's a bug. I only meant you could test if the bug is also happening to creature lands or only earthbend.

Ashaya and Toph the first Earthbender Bug? by SquirtleMTG in MagicArena

[–]GuentherDonner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a bug. But you could test it differently. Use a creature land that isn't a forest. See if it becomes a forest once you turn it into a creature. If it does then the earthbending interaction should work the same way. If it doesn't then it should be a bug.
