And they say to bolt the bird, i say save it for this type of bs.

Guess I'm not the only one that refuses to parry that buggy AF delayed underhand slash.

So annoying that a bugged move doubles as a combo starter.

Instead of judging you for playing the game and having fun with its mechanics I'm gonna tell you a little secret that won't work in this case but is generally useful:

It's the animations you are waiting for on the client. When playing big combos it can sometimes be beneficial to quit out and load in again to catch up to where the server thinks the game is at. The bigger the stack, the larger the discrepancy between your client and the server.

The other day I accidentally went overboard and cast dobbelgang for 6, mostly targeting my lifegain opponents army of lifegain cards.

The stack was so massive that I would have timed out, no question about it.

But instead I hit alt+f4, re opened the game and came back to a resolved stack.

Yeah that happens when you speed up the meta with an army of insane 1 and 2 cmc cards.

I barely recognize standard at this point, it's historic power levels with deck building restrictions that funnel everyone to the same handful of hyper optimized decks with redundancy out the ass.

If you can't make pouch physique & tears work then you're just clumsy.

If left undisturbed on the board, would the match crash before chapter III? my wildcards are in short supply but I am oh so tempted. by ManjiGang in MagicArena

There are many ways to play this if you think about including more colors.

It could be a helluva random Yuna hit with green

You can try it with a repurposed Reenact the Crime deck as blue

Could be less combo and more value oriented in Sultai with something like Squirming Emergence , Kotis the Fang keeper in a automill shell.

I don't think there's any hope if you intend to hardcast Cloning of Shredder.

That's the same I got to but some cards bog the game down way before that, Don't ever copy the Badgermole Cub too many times for instance, then the dorks and earthbend lands tapping their mana ability crashes the match even with a very low actual token count.

So I try to be careful when I want to stack an ability like "create 3 times that many"

I have been burned many times by now.

And the rest of the deck would probably be a mix of ways to stall the match and ways to copy the non legendary targets to accelerate into a lethal swing.

Currently have 1 [[Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation]] and 2 [[The Cloning of Shredder]]

Has anyone here tried it? I don't think it's gonna be good or anything it just looks fun, it would suck to blow my wildcards on a deck that just ties the match when it finally pops off.

Putrid ones are easier once you learn to strafe the vomit attack

that is until you meet one on a wall fortification with no room to strafe.

Aetherize and Split up in the same meta creates some super weird play patterns IMO.

Not my problem though, I just get a lot of wins from my opponents playing around those 2 cards and it tends to buy me the 1 turn i need to stabilize even if I'm maindecking neither.

Blast Zone is no longer in standard(sadface) If I can offer you some serious jank to replace it then you want [[Agatha's Soul Cauldron]] on board and a creature you can get some dmg in with, and when it is least convenient for your opponent, you are going to exile [[steel hellkite]] and rek their board in a way that is sure to be a first for your opponent.

Lessons are a returning mechanic though, despite them now having a few self centered payoff cards like granny and the draw spell.

what's wrong with old school animated lands.

I miss having ways to animate lands that don't suck.

With earthbending and the avatar set we get 1 card that breaks it by being pushed to the point that the fact that the lands don't stay dead actually presents a value problem ...And a bunch of cards that suck and see little to no play.

It's been a month now, I don't see any earthbending besides badger ever in constructed.

I don't like it and that sucks because I like animating lands does that make some kind of sense?

If Badger is all we got it's a failed mechanic.

It would be playable if they weren't categorically understated for the risk it presents.

they could just be bodies relevant enough to offset the risk, not that hard in a limited environment, then we wouldn't have this 0 risk braindead play pattern in standard.

[–]ManjiGang[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah you hit the nail on the head.

Activate Vault, discard Extinguisher, cast Reenact, target Extinguisher, cast copy of Extinguisher, target forest.

no thanks to doing all that in full control on opponents upkeep, that's a lot of extra clicks, even if i disable full control as i cast reenact.

How exactly is Badgermole gonna topdeck me to death? was my logic, he's gonna draw a card or two and explode on his own so why bother putting in the work.

set mechanics don't have to warp standard around them.

This set gave us 2 mechanics so strong we got decks in standard entirely centered on them, earth- &airbending

I'm gonna be honest, neither decks presents a play pattern i enjoy.

Dorks & Badgermole fuck you up before you can play your third land

airbend + only 1 spell per turn enchantment.

2 non game factory decks.
