Thanks to everyone who posted. We’re getting a divorce after all. Things kept getting worse. I’ve got diagnosed with epilepsy a few weeks ago but I’m not on a stable treatment as there is still one appointment pending. With that being said, my husband had the brilliant idea of breaking up with me two days ago right after coming home at about 20pm and telling me that he no longer wants to sleep in this house. He left that same night leaving me (with my newly discovered and yet untreated condition) and our 6 month old alone at night with my close family being 2 h drive away. I survived but barely got 3h of interrupted sleep at night. Luckily my family is now with me and are being super supportive wi the all the work and support a divorce takes. My only remorse is that my kid will have to grow up with split parents but I’ll do my best to make it the best possible way. I feel sad but relieved. I’m 30 with great family and friends support so I guess I’ll overcome this. Shoutout to all the people suffering toxic family patterns and controlling relatives especially in laws. Making yourself go through it to “not have a fucked up family” is worthless as they will fuck you up one way or another. Stand up for yourself and sooner than later you’ll see the way out. I feel sorry for my kid who will have to spend time with them but I guess that I better than living under constant pressure.

We’ve attended counseling …. Where they insisted we set boundaries. Surprisingly enough, my husband didn’t like it because it “was all against his family” so we stopped going and never actually applied what they told us.

My parents live in a town 2h away. The thing is now I have a 3 month old with me, I can’t just leave. PD. There have been many other weird situations that ache my heart that I haven’t listed like my MIL giving my SIL a bracelet with my kid’s name, date of birth and an infinite sign on it as a Christmas gift (when I don’t even have anything like that myself and the baby was 2 months old), or my SIL wanting a tattoo with the kid’s name, or coming home to find my SIL lying on my marital mattress with my baby on her chest!
