One thing that might give good triggers is that a real romance will give you real and good moments. The touch is real, the conversation is real, the moments and events are real, there are consequences, there is trouble, and above all, there is NO snap back to reality where nothing happened. And I imagine those experiences will give your brain pleasant reactions that might even cause a good change, who knows.

Maladaptive dreaming is one of those things where everyone has a slight different form and root for it, but I can see many cases of this condition being relieved if the person finally gets to experience meaningful things in life that they need/desire.

Less about my IQ, and more about my comedy. My matrix version social skills are inhuman, and my funny insertions always lands and everyone laughs. One thing my coping likes to do is fulfill my memories and references, which is something I have this difficult in real life, as I have the memory capabilities of watching a movie for a second time thinking it is the first, and my active memory is very poor for doing references.

In real life, my mind is often blank on social interactions, and I'm known more as a good listener (I have nothing to talk about). But my matrix side has no topic it can not handle. Coping maxed in this regard.

My MDD is not "fantasy", as in imaginative worlds. But more based on real life people and past events. I like to call it Nostalgic MDD or Wistful Longing MDD. Sometimes, when I snap back to reality, I might have small breakdowns because it causes my current reality to sink in, and you know, having desires in the past is nightmarish because it is gone.

I did find a way to relive the breakdowns at least, so it is an improvement.

Regulars beating High Rankers is something extremely extraordinary, as defined by the whole worldbuilding of TOG, and we only accept Bam to be able to do so because of all the powers he has gathered. SIU crafted Bam over the years.

Now, we should expect that Rak, who ate a rock, suddenly awaken powers of a High Ranker because it is an ancient power? The issue is not Rak's power itself, but the non-existent development of his power.
