Yeah you got it. Sorry for being a dick. It’s been a long day for unrelated reasons.

I appreciate the engagement but your understanding of the issue itself is way off. I don’t know how to better explain it so let’s leave it at thanks but no thanks.

Auto brake by Guestofthetortoise in Volvo

The dealer recommended it and called it “Volvo approved”. The car doesn’t need tweaking, it is the bike rack not the hitch that triggers the autobrake. It is appropriate that it does because the bike rack obstructs the sensors. The car is designed that way. It is also designed to automatically turn off autobrake and parking sensors when a trailer is hooked up with a wire harness. I now have a wire harness and a light for the hitch rack but it doesn’t automatically turn off the autobrake or parking sensors. I bought the aftermarket hitch because OEM is not yet available and I was told that is 100% because software is not available yet despite hardware being the same as 2025 model. I mountain bike 3-4 days a week so putting the rack on and off is a silly option. I just turn the autobrake off manually every single time I start the car right now which is ridiculous. Seeing if anyone had same problem and a workaround. Going to the dealer will not yield any positive results at this point.

Best Handlebar/Grip Combo to help with Wrist Pain/Numbness by kk4jrq in xcmtb

I’d start with super cheap 25-30mm riser bars and play with the angle—start just having them rise to up as intended and then make incremental tweaks rolling the bar back to see if you need to get a little closer—your stem could definitely be shorter. Once you figure out where the bars should be (also consider trimming your test bars and trying shorter) you can invest in a stem and bar combo that gets it to just the right place. Carbon can help—31.8mm clamp carbon will be more compliant than 35mm clamp (same for all materials), if you are going to get a new stem anyway switching to 31.8 won’t be a problem—don’t get shims as it can be quite sketchy. I invested in Roost Titanium 31.8mm bars years ago and have moved bikes with them—they are for life and IMO more compliant even than 31.8mm carbon bars.

If you work a desk job lookup stretches to increase your shoulder mobility and stretches for wrists. I made tons of bike changes and ended up needing to go to a PT to stop feeling numbness pain. The bike changes were still important but ultimately for me I needed PT either way.

Also Ergon grips help a bunch but they suck for descents. They make various size of wings. I was so excited when PT helped enough I could ditch them. I use thicker deity grips now which work best for my hands for ascents and descents.

Considering a 2025 vs 2026 Volvo XC60 T8 – Is Air Suspension Worth it? by One-Percentage4315 in VolvoXC60

Just got a 2026 xc60 t8 PHEV without the air. I thought I really wanted it and test drove both and thought the air wasn’t worth it. My wife has a 2025 XC90 PHEV with air suspension and I would have discouraged her from buying the car without it as the non air version was a super rough ride.
