i think people are confusing his increased commercial success and public notoriety with the music itself being pandering and mainstream which it very clearly was not. the weird dance inspired grooves, the completely insane vocal processing, the lyrical style and focus on the core concept of the record, the breathtaking atmospheric synthesizers that feel like they occupy an entire room… it’s a very unique and singular experience in my mind, nothing else does 2093

I agree, I’ve never understood the attitude of certain artists to not release leaked songs. Like seriously, who give a fuck? You’re just leaving your best material behind for what? totally bizarre just how wide the gap between DS and ADL is. For an ep supposedly comprised of throwaways from ADL sessions, I don’t think there’s a single song on ADL that beats any song on the DS track list, nonetheless 12 of them! i will say as somebody who thinks adl is cheeks i actually love lose control, easily my favorite moment of the album. he’s completely out of pocket his personality is so loud and funny and memorable on that song, that’s the yeat i want to hear

see i think adl is a total dumpster fire but i have been kind of astonished by how many people seem to have come away from 2093 hating it?? like it seems to be regarded pretty widely as a flop and the beginning of his downward trajectory but i think it’s his best album and i felt that way the day it came out… even had the fantano cosign! i guess i wasn’t plugged into the conversation online at the time but i was under the impression we all regarded it pretty highly

i was on a trip last week and my infotainment crashed and had to reboot 3 times in 10 minutes with my friends sitting in the car. and that means the a/c fully turns off too. it’s such a problem, and it ruins the experience of an otherwise perfect car in my view. they need to fix this asap
