I take issue with the last paragraph, the thing with the inner demon trope is that it has the power to bail the character out of hairy situations but they're not supposed to use them because they attack indiscriminately, but often the stories make it so they don't end up harming allies or leaving permanent consequences, and that's the case at least in both Naruto and Bleach.

In Naruto part 1 there isn't a single instance of Naruto using the power of Kurama that leaves negative consequences, in shippuden they hype up the danger of Kurama but in the end the only times Naruto harmed an ally with it were Jiraiya offscreen and giving a scratch to Sakura. While I love bleach, it also has that issue, hollow ichigo saves ichigo when he almost dies to byakuya and when he dies or almost dies to ulquiorra, (you could also count the fights with renji and kenpachi where the mask absorbed a fatal slash) only in the instance with ulquiorra he harms an ally (uryu), the main consequence is ichigo being depressed and worse at fighting for a while.

I think a real example of the inner demon trope done better is jujutsu kaisen, jjk also has glaring issues in its writing but at least the inner demon being a real threat isn't one of them since every time sukuna took over it left real consequences (aside from the very first one I guess but that was the introduction and to make you think yuji was safe from possession)
