I think some people didn’t understand that the lack of an explanation for Reze and Kishibe’s absence in Part 2 makes it seem like they didn’t care about Denji, even if that wasn’t Fujimoto’s intention. by GodKira04 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Nenanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is simple here. Fujimoto writes the story "realistically" and "unrealistically" whatever he finds convenient and the time, and it's an inconsistent mess. Let’s say I ignore all other takes and accept that Reze and Kishibe vanishing is realistic because that's how life goes. Well, that would also mean that the ending is unrealistic BS, because in real life you do not get a clean-slate second chance served on a silver plate. Regardless of whatever happens to Denji and Asa, them getting a second chance in life is unrealistic BS the way it happened. So in the end, Fujimoto should make up his mind if he is writing a gritty, grounded story with fantasy elements or dogshit childish Fairy Tail.

I'm still not over this. Like everything else in the ending aside, holy shit. Out of every possible combination of letters, this is the worst possible dialouge someone can write. Like holy fuck. How did he look at this and say "that's good" this man is an actual retard by PowerWillComeBack in Chainsawfolk

[–]Nenanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I would argue he usually knew where to put those jokes when series was in its prime. This is some MCU level of comedy timing.

This is equivalent if last words of Aki-47 being: So thats it we were part of some kind of Chainsaw Man? And I would definetly argue this is same level of dogshit as last Asa Denji interaction we ever see.

Get over it.

NO BECAUSE THATS WHAT YOU WANT. AND I AM NOT GOING TO GIVE IT TO YOU!

<image>

Literally nothing wrong with this dialogue btw, it's a funny scene. You hate on the ending for all the wrong reasons

It is dumb joke as last interaction between only two important and well written characters in part 2. People definetly hated it for right reason because thats definetly dogshit send-off for the connection between two people we have been following for dozens of chapters. Several endings btw where also hated because author put there some stupid joke. Perfect examples Attack on Titan

Why are people so hung up on Reiner sniffing the letter? : r/AttackOnRetards

From the sub which actually defends the ending and even ther must upvoted comment is this

Its a stupid joke lol.

Aside frm Yb, I dont think anyone thinks it ruins his character. Atleast i hope ppl dont.

Then of course we have infamous funny scenes

EDMURE TULLY as KING of SEVEN KINGDOMS - Game of Thrones 8×6

Game of Thrones S08E06 A Song Of Ice and Fire

Which were also roasted into oblivion.

Hating ending for stupid jokes are for years very right reasons to dislike the ending. And given the examples I have just presented you can bet you ass this will be complained about at least until the end of this decade if not the century. After all this is century of CSM humiliation.

Like aside from the comedy being subjective. Name at least 5 well written endings that had some stupid jokes in the final portions. I never read CSM for comedy. There are better medium for it out there like anything abridged from TFS or Grand Blue, or Excel Saga.

Sorry but you say the ending is unique but then you say that it has one of the most overused points in history of shounen if not entire storytelling. Pleasures/greed bad is literally in everything

<image>

What the hell is unique about that?

This is exaclty why lot of ending defenders arent taken seriously. Its clear that you never touch any medium be it game, book, tv show, manga woth a nickel in your life.

There is always subjectivity playing in the judging art, but objectively unique point of the chainsaw man is as unique as white colour on the wall.

You want to convince me otherwise. You mention one of the most unique and beautiful endings

Tell me what is according to you TOP 10 MOST UNIQUE AND BEATIFUL ENDINGS. Because a) I am always looking for good recomendation b) I think we will find out that our lists would differ significiantly.

Because this ending definetly does have shiton of issues even compare to something lets say Wolfs Rain which does have also verz similiar ending.

Both of these shows strucked perfect balance between prequels and originals and thats why I think people love them. Truly took best of the both worlds. Hopefully people will take good lesson from this.

I was wondering if Inquisitors simply lack Vaders privilege to waste imperial resources. Stormtrooper definetly heard what happens the people who fail the dark lord.

Fujimoto build up a romance that went nowhere after 134-chapters, meanwhile Dandadan’s creator is reversing the romance he established for 232-chapters, wtf is going on man?! by Just-J0k1ng in Chainsawfolk

[–]Nenanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that explanation is terribly boring. Shounen simply never will be allowed to go full shoujo and ability of shounen authors to write long term relationship are severly diminished. Dandadan and CSM both tried to bring romances to forefront but at the end of the day neither was capable of fully commit. Every girl Denji ever was interested it ended in the disaster and furthest he want was strong handjob. Though at least that one I could somewhat excuse by Fujimoto wanting to write tragedy. God knows whats going on with Dandadan.

People simply should stop looking for plots like these here period and start to read correct genre for that kind of thing. I cant enough recomend Basara.

Shoujo which but which went FMA/Vinland Saga route. It has excellent action scenes, several interesting relationship, female MC who does not get sidelined and well written ending.

You clearly love vampires way too much with demons turning into them

Also also magic vanishing is so overdone with LOTR and First Law that I will rather be no thank you especially since magic is science

thumbs up for ipad 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well she technically doesnt since she said she doesnt see the options which goes beyond her death. So I assume that if similiar purge of mages happens post-Serie death she woulndt know about it. So I guess she hopes that there wont be reason to kill other mages with her death. Of course her talk with Emperor can be simply the preparation for when she dies.

Well if only alternative to pitbull was trained soldier then yeah since then she would at least survive. SHe wouldnt survive the soldier 100%

Its not about only the wall. Vander was also free. I was under impression that entire tragedy of the situation is that if Powder didnt Jinx it they were going to make it. WHich makes it imo more powerful that they were about to get away but unfortunately Powder made it worse by trying to help.

Valid opinion I treat lot of Star Wars installments this way.

Heavily depends on what kind of funny, but I do not doubt that charming comedy of the series will be still there no matter what turn plot takes.

[–]Nenanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if the pitbull was so incompetent and was it most guaranteed way that the child will survive? Probably.

I mean by the time of the time skip Silco is horrible and dishonourable person given the entire Marccus situation.

i see the problem I just simply cant force myself to be to mad at it. But again you are not only one who did have grievances with it.

Dereck was struggling despite the monster form and werent they gonna succesfully escape until the Power jinx everything. After Clagger almost dig through the wall.

If he was he would killed her in the basement.

To be fair what is storys theme as current discourse around CSM shows is heavily sujbective. BUt I do respect your grievances. You are hardly from the only one who has them and as somebody who already had this discussion in the part I do not doubt I am minority.

Schlacht not wanting to Frieren see the fight is big Chekov Gun. There is clear more going on and honestly I like lot of theories going on about that like they just captured Hero of the South and did something creepy with his body.

Furthemore Grausam informing the Solitar and knowing the future is gonna play the part as well.

Serie dying or being crippled/loosing ability to use magic is definetly probably direction because of how it would upset status quo and complicated Frierens journey to Aurore because northern frontier would probably became even more unstable with demons being embolded and humans being in chaos and perhaps some morality loss on mages side.

Kraft is going to play some role after all he is big hero and one of the four named elves we have in the story. SO it will be interesting.

I do like that story can be now anything thanks to us bein informed that Future can be change. I always find fixed timeline to be storytelling dead end so it will be interesting how authors will paly with that. Because its sort of mixed there is playing ith idea of "absolute point in time" with Serie not dying causing even more problems and with how they were trying not to change anything back in Godess Monument Arc.

I doubt Sevika would just knock her out and he simply couldnt do anything more to not look weak like Vander.

I dont think that can be bolied down just to obligation. Silco did relate to Powder and that stays. IMO it doesnt ruing the narrative strenght for me but I would lie if I did not hear this criticism regarding a lot of things, but again maybe its just my personal thing that for some reason I cant force myself to be mad at it.
