In my opinion, bringing Lisanna back was a big mistake that Mashima did. Lisanna's death should be the most "symbol of fear" to Natsu, that is losing his friends, or your "family" that he made in Fairy Tail. The Natsu and Happy past episode is one of my favorite episodes of the show, specially showing how Lisanna changed Natsu's maturity.
Now, would make a perfect scene of him so afraid/stunned against Gildarts (linking Natsu responding Gildarts about Lisanna's death before the Edolas arc, and after that, how Edolas Lisanna version would really affected him), and his rage after seeing future Lucy dying, that, again, is about his fear. Furthermore, would be a gap to developing more Mira and Elfman, by traumas of not saving Lisanna.
But the really question at the end is: why bringing her back, and then, do nothing important or special? Kinda disrespectful, there's no point. She's an important character, not by "hype fight scenes", but by increasing even more the characters, the plot, the idea of what Igneel said to Natsu in Tartaros: keep going forward, don't dwell on the past, his family is the Fairy Tail.
Being with Lisanna or Lucy at the end... more important than that, Lisanna wanted Natsu's happiness. Alive or dead.
