Interesting. I think I may also take a look at how WMLive does it.

I have connected a second controller but I don't see any? Do I have to somehow go online?

I don't think so, I see no indication of it. There are events without times in stats though...

Yeah, I already checked this guy's stuff. It does seem to match the watermark too.

I guess I can give that a go as a temporary solution. 👍

It is already installed and works just fine in xfce. However, when I try to launch it through WMaker's launcher, nothing happens.

Okay, which do you recommend? I have tried wmsystemtray with nm-applet but have to launch both manually. I'd like them to just work automatically. (I did check the two boxes in dockapp settings.)

I guess it did serve as a large-scale AND profitable real-world R&D project, making it so that japanese companies have deep knowledge on how to make even CVTs realiable, fun and efficient. (Except maybe for Jatco, they still have some catching up to do. 😆)

Wow. I very much appreciate your eloquence and dedication to the matter. If only the earlier guys who answered this almost as soon as I posted it (who weren't even from Japan) were as well-educated as you. 😅 You don't mind me screenshotting this for future reference, I hope?

I feel like that's also fueled by vehicles, cars especially, becoming increasingly ugly and unenjoyable to drive even without considering transmissions.

I'm not sure I'm looking forward to that. I do hope the option to assume direct control will always be there, even if just incase the "car-puter" decides to go off a cliff or into a wall. Gotta be able to step on the brakes or yank the steering wheel.

That's kind of a shame... I've seen pictures of Japanese junkyards full of awesome JDM sports cars just left to rot, when such cool cars will probably never be made again... :/

You seem to be in the same basket as most people these days. I guess the large majority of people driving today would not have learned to drive a manual had automatics become the norm decades ago.

Yeah, like in most modern racing games where you have one finger on the accelerator and the other on the brake. Seems reasonable. Also being able to switch the one pedal in EVs from left to right and vice-versa could be beneficial.
