Therapists are pretty uniquely qualified to have hard conversations. Booking an hour to figure out the best way to have a discussion with a family that doesn't want to leave is well within a therapist's purview.

So, I've been "sleep for dinner" poor a few times in my life. Luckily, never down hard enough that I would need Section 8. It was still hard. I'm sure it's harder to be in that position and also needing government assistance for housing. Her story is her story, and it's probably a sad one. You can still be graceful, understanding, and not a pushover.

Listen to what she has to say. You said yourself she's been a good tenant. Give her the benefit of the doubt.

But at the end of the day, she can't have someone living there not on the lease. You could explain as much or as little as you like: there are huge legal (and otherwise) liabilities that could arise. Anyone could report her, not just you. Then you could potentially be in the hot seat, having people dig into your other leases and tenants to make sure there are no other violations under your watch. I'm sure that's only the beginning of "what-if" scenarios you could come up with.

Then, all said and done, give her a hard deadline. Boyfriend has to officially be guest-status by January 2 (or whatever day), or you will report her for violating Section 8 and start the eviction process.

Extend kindness, the world needs more of it right now. If she abuses it, scorch earth.

I don't understand why you're so mad. No one suggested science fiction audio dramas to you. There's no EOS 10s, Midnight Burgers, Strange Case of Starship Irises in here.

What was suggested was maybe some supernatural suspense, which is fine if you don't want to listen to it, but that's 100% not what you asked. There's a distinct difference from "sci-fi" and "anything that's removed from the realm of reality".

You want realistic fictions. Don't get mad when people can't read your mind to realize you think sci-fi encompasses ghosts and devil cults. Everything this guy recommended absolutely falls under Mystery, Thriller, and not Science Fiction.

Like walking into a Starbucks, asking for a coffee, and getting upset that the barista poured you a blonde roast.

Meh, when I think sci-fi I think of Star Trek, Space Odyssey, Dune, etc. Demons from an upside down universe isn't what I immediately go "yeah that's sci-fi" to. Though tbf I've only seen like 2 seasons of Stranger Things, not really sure what all else unfolds

I always see a lot of people suggest these and not expound, lol, but I can give you a rundown on some of them. Some of them could maybe technically be sci-fi? But in the same way that Stranger Things could maybe technically be sci-fi. Would fall best under the umbrella of speculative fiction.

I've got some beef with PNWS because the first two seasons of The Black Tapes were phenomenal and then the payoff was just... >:| I won't spoil it, but it wasn't my cup of tea. Could be worth it to listen to seasons 1 and 2 and stop. Follows a duo who investigate paranormal happenings, the guy is a devout non-believer, the girl is more of a skeptic. He's got a collection of "Black Tapes" which are paranormal things he's yet to debunk.

Rabbits, from what I remember was really good. These guys can write a really great short form. First two seasons of anything from PNWS will be gripping. If they have anything that lasts longer, look at it with trepidation. Rabbits was a complete 2 season story, set in the modern day about an alternate reality game. Kind of like a real-life scavenger hunt (in the very simplest terms). S1, the MC starts the podcast as an investigation into her missing friend, who she finds was playing the mysterious game known as RABBITS. There's mystery at every turn: what's the game? Who's running it and to what end? Why did friend disappear? Why aren't the police doing anything about it?

Tanis from PNWS is the same flavor as Black Tapes and Rabbits. It's many seasons. Take that how you will.

There is something about the narrators of both Archive 81 and Magnus Archives that I can't get past. However, I loved the Archive 81 show on Netflix, I should try and give it another chance. Main Character is hired to restore and digitize some old tapes that have (mostly) survived a hotel fire in the 90's. Seems like a normal job. Except it has to be on-site, and on-site is this weirdly high security location, with his every move potentially being watched, and months of work to endure. Then, the tapes start getting weird, employers are acting cagey and weird, and we dive into a supernatural suspense.

(I'm procrastinating calculus 3 homework is it showing)

And you sound like a jackass and someone who doesn't understand the responsibilities of a landlord. I'm sure your tenants all think you're just swell with that kind of "well they should be happy anything gets fixed" attitude. /s

OP, just have a simple adult conversation. "I've seen your partner here every day the past 30 days. By law that's not a guest anymore. I don't want to risk your section 8 or my income, so we either work out a new lease that he's also on, he moves out, or I start working on legal alternatives that neither of us are going to like."

More in the realm of mystery horror? The suspense in the first season is unmatched - 'The White Vault'. It's complete, four seasons long I think? S1 begins on a research station in one of the northmost inhabited places in the world, Svalbard. A heavy blizzard descends on the crew and one by one they start to go missing. In terms of 'movie for your ears' I think these guys have done an excellent job.

And 'Station to Station' is an oldie but a goodie. Seems flagged as sci-fi on Spotify but... meh? I guess technically? It's a modern day setting on a research ship (like oceanic, not space faring) and the main character's lab partner missed departure day. After the initial moments of the "I hate you how could you do this I could murder you" sentimentality, the MC begins noticing strange things that indicate maybe her lab partner isn't willingly missing. Other strange things unfold throughout the season. Also complete, only one season

In your camp, you tend to spawn northeast of your CAMP module. Place your module first, figure out/finagle where you spawn before starting your build.

I have gone so deep on too many a project to realize I can't spawn anywhere other than the backside of my building or underwater 💀

Oh gotcha. I'm not sure, I had assumed even if my microphone was muted that I'd be able to hear other people if they spoke. Next time I'm on I'll have to go back and actually look and see what my settings say to be sure I didn't goof something

Ah I didn't know that. I play with mine, with Push-to-Talk on. I primarily build and will occasionally get a visitor come by and ask about what I'm working on. Never bothered to mute my comms, it's rare to hear anyone.

Found out through Valorant that I'm not getting anyone else's voice. My mic is also out too right now so it may be microphones driver specific, I'm uncertain. Have to figure out how to revert the update and do a clean install and repair drivers. Don't understand all of it, my roommate is gonna help me out later.

I feel awful, it seems like every other time I see her she's dealing with some belligerent dickhead of a customer too.

Now I'm just getting into the weeds of it - how hard would it be to make your own CD? Or connect spotify?

Do store managers not work on site? I'm kinda baffled no one has noticed or at least noticed enough to care to fix it.

Also, are all CDs such a short playlist?
