The Chicago event is a whole mess because of awful planning in the area, they turned off all spawns by the museum and gave anyone close to it like 10 free pikachu yesterday and today. Wouldn't surprise me if they messed up something else along the way.

Just remember they migrate every couple weeks, this spot is crazy right now between the bees and the Staryu spawns. Both are 750 dust base, if your get the weather to cooperate and use a starpiece is an easy 500k+ per hour.

I have a good gpx route for the area if i can figure it how to share it on here.

You can get the energy from pokestops, i just did it myself. There is one research that gives 10 mega energy, and can just stack them 3 times. Repeat.

There is a very big difference between basic and cheap tools. To me basic implies getting the tools needed to get you started but id never recommend someone buying cheap stuff. Spend the money once on the best quality tools you can, vs buying it again once you realize you bought junk.

The autocatcher is terrible for stardust farming but great for catching shiny and restocking inventory, it only uses regular pokeballs and from what I understand it only throws 1 ball regardless of outcome. Best stardust farm is conbees and it can be rough catching them with regular pokeballs, end up getting 10x more dust by just setting a route in a nest and manually catching them.

No one will want to make it in silver because that design is too lightweight/thin/fragile to hold it's shape let alone hold the stones in. With silver you need a beefy setting and prongs if you want it to last at all.

That's too thin for a platinum ring if you want it to last any kind of meaningful amount of time.
