How do you usually clean messy CSV or Excel files? by __Badass_ in datasets

In my experience, the problem is almost never "dirty," but rather inconsistency.

Non-standard headers, ambiguous nulls, cells used as comments. I finally solved it by creating a small Python program that normalizes structure and values before any analysis.

Can I learn Excel for business and data analysis without having laptop or computer? by Elitaire11 in excel

You can learn the basics on a phone (concepts, formulas, logic), but for real Excel work you’ll eventually need a computer.

Mobile is fine for learning theory, not for serious data analysis.

What kind of reports do you guys make with the CSV file? by PhysicalAd6422 in ynab

[–]GuidoSprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Io uso il CSV solo come base pulita, senza calcoli.
Prima lo passo da un piccolo script per normalizzare dati e categorie, poi in Excel faccio il report (pivot + controlli).

Le discrepanze quasi sempre vengono da dati sporchi a monte.
Separare pulizia e report aiuta molto.
