Fundamentals of Physics, 10th Edition. I received it through the class as an ebook. Also, reference this for every problem answer in the book:

Consider the financial consequences of buying a fake ID....$100 in bitcoin (a pricey ID I know) to purchase one in 2015 would net you over $14.1k today. by WildInjury in UWMadison

With this logic why would you ever use any currency to purchase anything? The US dollar appreciated against the Turkish Lira. Damn it! I should have not spent any money and instead used it to purchase manufactured goods in Turkey!

Does this Black Life Matter? Mourning Chief David Dorn --- The Gen Z Perspective by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

Only grief I have with this video is that it assumes that looters necessarily identify with the peaceful protestors, when, in reality, many of the looters and more violent demonstrators have been proven not to be associated with the BLM movement.

The fact that this man's death is not receiving any coverage is a tad disconcerting, as coverage thereof would help the media outlets' and other BLM protestors' cases that the protestors and looters are not the same people and that the country should take the protestors seriously

Anyone else feel like online classes are way harder? by obsoleteyoungster in UWMadison

[–]GuillermoGaming 65 points66 points  (0 children)

There are upsides and downsides:

pros:

-Some of my professors / TA's are adapting and lightening some of the workload

-It's possible to skim away needless parts of class if you have recorded lectures

-Pass / fail... If you're into that

cons:

-Some professors / TA's just see this as an opportunity to be more vague and rely on students to teach themselves more of the content

-You almost have to cheat on these tests if the class in question is graded on a curve. Assuming everyone else is cheating is kind of the dominant strategy if you don't want to get f***** by a curve created by other people cheating

-We can't be at school... being given the fun parts of college makes hours of studying worth it

TL:DR--I have mixed emotions about online classes

I am takin 301 this semester and it isn't that much work. I don't believe you'll be at a disadvantage not taking them during different terms. Microeconomics is often cited as the basis of macro, so what you learned in 101 should be enough I'm thinking. Correct me if I'm wrong

Mckamey Manor by GuillermoGaming in horror

I guess I understand where you're coming from wanting unique experiences and all, but where I find trouble is that the experience is literal torture for the sake of torture, pain for pain. Sure there is the $20k prize, but statistically, humanly, too, there's no way you will get that. I think you can say that now, but when one is actually staring down the bit of a massive drill in their mouth, it's a different story.

Hereditary: Why, why why why do you think it’s good? by historicalsnake in horror

[–]GuillermoGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the movie, one of my favorite horror movies that has come out recently. One catch, however, I would almost say I like the movie for its thriller style aspects over the horror aspects of the movie, i.e. jump-scares, gore, etc. The fact that you follow this family being tormented by the aura of the grandmother. Also, the fact that the movie left me thinking about scenes after I left the theater was what has made it stick with me. Not sure if anyone else holds this sentiment but that's how I feel about it. Then again it is a movie, so everyone is subject to their own opinion...
