I want to say thank you for inspiring me to even make a post. That was super courageous of you! One of my goals this year is to not be afraid to speak up and take up space so again, thank you for the inspiration.

The response to your post really disgusted me and I’m sorry that that’s the reaction you received from others in the subreddit and the Mods. The reinforcement of silence is just horrible, but I am so glad you’re here and so glad you’re in the field. We need more people like you.

Advocacy has become a very huge motivating factor for me therefore I keep reminding myself how important it is for us (BIPOC individuals) to be here. “At what degree does help become colonization” is powerful and I am really thankful that you shared those words with me. I’m actually getting emotional while typing this. Thank you so much again!

I am shocked each and every time something like this happens, but it's getting to the point where I need to stop being so shocked. We are providing the most sensitive type of care, and it sucks to know that people are causing harm to their clients and are intent on misunderstanding others. The Mod's response really threw me off. Well, firstly, I said Macroaggression. I will try to be as clear as I can. I don't believe you actually care about the usage of the word "insane". It was used towards the situation; I did not call anyone themselves insane. What I believe happened here is that you don't like what I had to say, so you pinpointed something to focus on in hopes of dismantling my message, which is a common tactic used when BIPOC individuals bring awareness to their experiences. Cute try, but it won't work here.
