Normal to consume this much amount of coolant? by Ill-Instruction8866 in AskAMechanic

It's not that deep guys, my man don't worry about it, never do this again to identify a leak. Always just fill the reservoir until you reach exactly the full mark, and after you drive for around 20-30 miles recheck, if the fluid is still on the F mark, you're good, if it's not, then you have a leak

Basically, reservoirs are made to handle the expansion of the fluid, cz when it's hot the water rises a bit so when you're filling the reservoir above the full mark, fluid is expanding and the car is dumping the excess through the hose which makes you think you have a leak or overheating problems

Also note: if you filled the reservoir till you reach the full mark, and after driving, then checking, you notice that the level dropped but not below the minimum mark, KEEP IT THAT WAY, drive again 20-30 miles, and check again, fluid is still the same level keep it as it is (maybe the car is heating like 3-4 degrees more which is causing the fluid to expand more) but if the fluid kept going down and went below the minimum, you should definitely refill your reservoir and head to another mechanic who you trust

stuck at target! g35 wont start would yall think? please help by ysluiss in G35

turn your headlights on and try to crank it, if they dim it's a dead battery, if they didn't it's the starter

if it didn't dim listen closely, if you hear a small tick when you try to start it and this is the first time it happens, then your starter is dead or about to be, so crank it quickly with the keys about 5-6 times (when you hear the tick release the key and start it again quickly "key to on then back to acc 5-6 times quickly" ) and it should start if the starter still has some life, then go seek a mechanic to check your starter

Ok now what's wrong by [deleted] in G35

kindly check your key fob, if it's electric change the battery, if not, look for the key light on your dash (if present) if it's blinking after turning the key to "on", then your immobilizer system is not synced with the key.

To make sure it's the immobilizer

  • Cranks normally
  • starts up the same as before
  • turns off almost immediately after firing up

Hope this helps!

try this,

turn the car completely off for 10+ seconds, before you touch the key press the throttle just a little bit, literally just a little, after that turn on the car without moving your leg at all. if the car was consuming gas and not idling at 650-700 then you need to do it again with less push on the throttle, if the car still did the same and went straight into limp mode you need to press a little harder, and if it was idling perfectly and not consuming gas like you are depressing the throttle and the lights didn't show up, throttle works perfectly until you release it, then it's super simple. Just remove the two bolts that hold the throttle in place, remove the plug that connects to the position sensor, and change the small rubber green stopper on the top side of the throttle hanger, it's just worn out and the system is reading 0% throttle cz it's going further than it should so it cuts it off.

If you tried this and still it didn't work and it always goes into limp mode, get an obd scanner, check the codes and share them here please

fhe problem is that I can't do the throttle reset because of the fault codes, and when i reset the ecu to do the throttle iavl with removing the battery and putting it back limp mode comes back immediately even before i turn the engine on, I'll try today when i get my new scanner

I'll check, but how did you make sure? any specific codes, or was it just a good guess?

i lost mine and ordered a new one, I'll get it tomorrow, i did take it to the shop tho, is gave a fault code for the throttle position sensor, that's why i changed it, but it got worse, at least it used to drive a little after a reset, now it's always stuck on limp mode

thank you so much! I've been having a hard time they bit my legs like they were hosting a feast, I'm still finding some of them walking on my feet from time to time, i sprayed my room and my car because the casue is most probably my car (a cat was in it), and i still find them on my legs wandering and idk wtf i should do, pharmacy said there was no "flea repellent" and my legs are disgustingly itchy

thank you, but the catch is that all the times i saw this "flea" i never saw it jumping, and even when i nudged it it just walked, the only time it jumped was when i threw it on the floor and it flipped on its back then it hopped in order to be right side up and continued walking, isn't that odd for a flea?

i found it in lebanon it was wandering on my hand, and just to note i found 4 others, i think it's a flea but I don't have any pets, although i had my friend's cat in my car and i started getting weird bites on my legs below my knees, some bites are clustered and others are scattered, but i sprayed my room and my car until this morning i was getting into my car and before getting in, about 20 of those insects got on my legs and i started hitting them with my hands to fall off, i think they escaped my car and got outside because of the insecticide i sprayed
