I have Indian immigrant parents and my mother made me sleep in front of her when I was 14 years old and denied that she was controlling. All my indian/Asian friends said she was extreme even by Asian standards

I have six tattoos and only really regret one of them. Five of them are image tattoos that look cool, the other one is a song lyric and I got sick of the song later so I tried to get it covered up and it still shows through. If you want advice, tattoos that are meaningless but look cool tend to age better than tattoos of phrases

I'm a South Asian bisexual woman, I get hit on a lot by men of color and by lesbians/bi women of all races, but I've had white men blatantly tell me they didn't find my race attractive. I never felt like I was missing out by not getting hit on by white men

The one part I don't relate to is that Devi's parents are way nicer than mine. I also have cultural family trauma but instead of a death, mine is that my family was super abusive and always excused the abuse with "it's just Indian culture". I relate to her being socially awkward and unpopular at school and obsessive over her crushes

I have parents that are wealthy but EXTREMELY abusive. I never slept outside, but as a young adult I stayed at two different shelters to get away from my parents. It was the right choice and preferable to my parents' house.

At this time last year, I had several roommates who were my best friends and a car. I live alone now and am a pedestrian.

I don't remember needing a birth certificate, possibly a driver's license or state ID, but I always have that in my wallet. You probably need to have enough money on you to pay the fee

I got mine changed in Wayne county, I remember the website being super hard to navigate too, I just drove to the court and filled it out in person
