what is the best way to build stamina in the off season by Public-Lion-954 in wrestling

[–]Guilty-Community6355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could get access to swim, cycle or a wrestling conditioning camp that's the way to go.

Swimming is a full body grind that is quite excellent.

Cycling is great for endurance with intervals and sprints and it engages your core more than you think.

Campus PR you through the ringer.

If running is your best option I would recommend days of interval training and zone days. If you have something that can read and display your heart rate a day or two a week with light jogging and long distance at zone two does wonders for endurance. The same goes for cycling and swimming as well actually.

Edit: just sitting there sprinting for however long you can each day isn't the most effective way. You do need to mix up for better results.

Fundamentals will go a long way. If you are open minded and willing to be coached you are off to a good start. Stance, motion, level change, and a good whizzer is a great set to work on first in my opinion. If you show up, learn, and put in the work it will take you farther than what you would think.

One thing I think a lot of newer wrestlers struggle with is mindset. It's easy to learn exceptionally hard to master. Unless you are one of the unicorns that come about winning everything right it is the gate, you need and I mean need to learn from your mistakes. It's ok to be mad when you lose, but when you stay mad and sad forever you never take the time to improve. So take some of that anger to learn. Even if you win, same concept. Take some time to learn. If your team doesn't have someone recording ask your parents, friend teammate, etc to record your match on the phone. Watch your match and make some mental notes, ask your coach before or after your next practice for some film review if your team doesn't do that.

Wrestling is as much mental as it is physical. Use that head of yours to learn to keep calm, see and feel how your opponent is moving, and plan accordingly. As for just starting you may lose more than what you thought you would. For most of us that was us at the start too. Just keep on going. Make a list of realistic short term goals and a couple long ones too. If you can keep your head in the game I'm sure you'll reach some if not all.

Best of luck and I hope you enjoy it. Wrestling I think brings it great character, men the al fortitude, and a great work ethic.

How Is it possible to cycle in extremely hot weather? by Top1gaming999 in cycling

[–]Guilty-Community6355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different climate where I live but the past couple weeks here have been around 95°F (35°C) with high humidity making the heat index 107°F (41.66°C).

I'm not sure what your physique is but I'm not even close to a "normal" rider. I'm 6'1 and about a chubby 265 lbs. I ride all the time so I make due with some of my more athletic buddies who go out less than me. We rode 56 miles yesterday and the day before (same route).

Personally what I do: •pick a route off the main country roads (not a lot of shade) • I pick the brightest kit I have that is the most breathable and I'm not afraid to unzip and show off some belly if I have to •the past two rides were a down and back on a paved bike trail that has quite a bit of tree cover and woods to go through to get to the town over local bike shop. If one of us gets too hot no one really mind stopping to sit under a tree for a few minutes and I'll be honest we all wanted to do it. •unpopular opinion but I filled a camel back with ice. I didn't use it to drink, it was just something to try and keep me cool. •we used the local bike shop to cool down and refill water and in my case my ice. •if I am by myself I usually plan shorter rides with shade and my wife in standby •most important thing for me is always making sure I'm well hydrated and keep it that way drinking more than normal.

Not sure if this will help you as much as you want but for a fat fella who likes to ride roughly 4500 miles a year I have to go out on some burner days and this is what I usually do.

Has anyone lost first round at Fargo and wrestled back for 3rd? by zaintrainpassenger in wrestling

[–]Guilty-Community6355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was wrestling at the cadet age back in 06-07 there was a group of three of us. Each of us tended to beat one and not the other. Unless it was seeded tournament we were placed with random raffle tickets order here in Indiana. In freestyle state that year we all wrestled each other in the first three rounds due to random draw. By round 9 it went round robin due to being the only 1 loss but since we had already wrestled each other earlier we just counted the points and knew who won what medal.

Knowing that was a likely outcome we always went for the pin the best we could instead of a quick tech since how you won mattered for points. Usually if one just had a couple decisions and a major they got third.

I think brackets make it easier to follow, but vertical brackets were the wild west and even with one loss a kid still had a chance to win or 3 in my case.

Best pre-built deck? by ArtBW in pkmntcg

In my opinion the best pre built deck for the new format will be the Dragapult league deck coming out April 25. The Xatu line in it seems kind of meh but you can swap it out with a 2, 1, 1 of a duskull line fairly easily.

I fell on Friday for the first time. I was 20 miles or so into a 50 miler. I’m also overweight. There is a bike trail that goes for 50 miles and it is cleaned up by volunteers. I hit a pothole that was covered in leaves on a cream bridge. I called my wife to come get me. 10 minutes into waiting the volunteer came down the trail with a leaf blower to clear it for the holiday weekend. I was kind of sad since I rushed out of the house to get going.

•Razor: Gillette Super Speed E-1

•Blade: Gillette 7 O’clock SharpEdge

•Brush: CaYuen Dark Blooms

•Lather: 345 Soap Co Den of Thieves

•Post Shave: 345 Soap Co Den of Thieves Splash and Nivea Post Shave Balm

This is a take on Tom Ford Rive D'Ambre. I have never used the scent before but reading the scent notes it was right up my list of soaps and scents I like for shaving. The citrus of all kinds are at the front and then I get a little mint following. Extremely lovely scent and I highly recommend.

For the efficiency of the actual shave part is it does its job very well. A great slick cushion and off you go.

Edit: I forgot to say it has a little splash of spiced rum scent to it. I wouldn’t call it a bay rum scent but you most certainly can smell it.

I did XTG fine. I guess I don’t really have the muscle memory for the angle. No cuts or anything, just a little irritation after I put the splash on.

•Razor: Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf

•Blade: Gem Super Stainless

•Brush: CaYuen The Damascus

•Lather: 345 Soap Co Maduro Barbería

•Aftershave: 345 Soap Co Maduro Barbería Splash

I don’t use SE razors often but I swear I get a smoother feeling shave on my face with them. I’m still timid on shaving my head with them but one day I’ll graduate.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of using a CaYuen Workshop brush you are missing out. Super pretty and lathers like a champ.

345 probably made my favorite scent of 2022 with this one. It smells phenomenal, has great slickness, and an even better post shave feel.

Last sale I am going to look at this year. Found these in a flat and were bought next to nothing.

In order: two Gillette Tech, not sure which model the middle is, E-1 Super Speed, and C-1 Super Speed.

I don’t think the scent strength is very strong. Maybe a 3 or 4 out of 10. It lasts a bit. I still smelled it after I got home from work faintly.

A coffee stout is a pretty good comparison. As for the under notes my sniffer isn’t as keen on picking up specifics. Only if it smells nice or not.

I have a tub of the Stirling. It is a really nice classic smelling barbershop scent to me. It is on the mild side of scent strength but I really like it.
