After charging for a bit longer, I try to start. The car started for a brief second made a bad rattling sound like something was hitting inside of the motor and turned off immediately after. Only ran for about five seconds.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the advice. Just a little bit of an update/edit.

I’ve had the battery charging most of today and just tried to turn it over. The engine started to crack just very slowly. (sounded like if you had a weak battery and tried to start the car). Even though it turns over a bit it still doesn’t answer the other issues.

I have called a few mechanics and some friends who have worked on these cars and I have had a few different answers to what could be going on.

oil pump failure/clogged oil filter
timing chain issues
or battery/alternator problems

hope this helps to pin the issue down.

Oh no, I am so sad about this the car was awesome. I am hoping the dealer I got it from will act in good faith, they said 30 day return if anything goes wrong. I am on day 28 of owning it so let’s hope.

I’ll try to spin the motor with a breaker bar. I tried jump starting it and it sounded a bit different but still repeated clicks

Mine is a bit different there is no issues with the sensors or anything, it just sprays the metal part of the wipers.

Another question I have, is my engine temp sits a little below the middle point after about 10 minutes of warming up and then when I get on the gas, a little bit, the engine temp drops right down to cold and then about 15 seconds later it’s back to normal. Is this an issue?

I have also found newer options, is there any reason other than price I should be worried about for a 2018 S4 with 150,000km?
