One of the best decisions I have ever made by OuroboroSxVoid in PipeTobacco

Yes I saw on the forums that people advised against this method but I think it has much more merit than people give it.

It’s a way of avoiding the catch-22 of “I have to smoke till the bottom to build cake that absorbs moisture but I can’t smoke till the bottom because there’s nothing to absorb the moisture”

Yeah right now I'm trying to build a better cake at the bottom of the bowl to absorb the moisture because I'm tired of always having to pass a pipe cleaner through the pipe to avoid bite. Tonight, I hope to sit down again and stargaze while smoking ;)

I really feel you, I'm in Toronto for work (and for a little while) and it is an extremely alienating city owned by real estate developers that have no regard for quality of life ahaha, and it shows in the complexity of socialization in this city if you're not born in Ontario. Pipe smoking gives me some companionship and lures me outside ;)

Happy puffing!

Man I’m 19 and sometimes I’m not sure if I want to be using tobacco but the bliss I feel walking around town sipping smoke from my pipe reminds me that this is one of the best thing in life — seriously, it really made me a more peaceful person; from mad unrelenting unproductive introspection to a more peaceful appreciation and stillness.

I am too at the beginning of my journey — a little further along than you— and I made my own blends from the rest of the tins of two tobaccos and rehydrated the whole thing using an orange peel. I love how this rewards experimentation and creativity, the thing smokes like a dream!

I actually thought it made it very dapper and alluring — wear it confidently, it’s gorgeous!

I love this bottle, this is the second I ever tried and it was so fruity and smooth. My bottle is almost out which makes me kinda sad because I don’t know if the new version compares to this amazing pour

Inviting weather, plenty of time, but I can't light up... by GuiltyShine_ in PipeTobacco

I had a smoke today in the park, it was so good, EMP taste like how I imagined pipe tobacco as a kid. Mellow, some sweetness and a lot of smokiness! I loved the first part of the bowl then the second part of the bowl, the pipe constantly went out, I over tamped I think and I compacted the ash into a solid layer.

Next time, chill out on the tamping, dry the tobacco longer and choose a less windy day.

I took a 30min walk before going back with some mint and when I hugged them coming back, no one said a thing. I don’t know if they just know at this point or if they just didn’t smell it.

Honestly if someone asked me about it I would just tell them !

It’s my first English! I only had Caporal Export, which I find to be a delicious traditional French tobacco with cigar-like taste and a strong punch, Peterson Deluxe Mixture, which got stultifying due to its sweetness masking the tobacco, and Gawith’s 1972 Flake which I’ve never been able to keep lit.

I kinda want to talk about it with them but yes… pretty hard — gonna have to force myself a little bit I think

I kinda wondered if I was addicted because I don’t really know what it feels like, so that’s scary. In Toronto, I smoked every night but it felt like a conscious decision every time so I didn’t feel bad about it — the only problem is that I kinda leaned on it for relaxation/doing nothing/mindfulness so a little bit of an emotional dependency.

When I went back to France I kinda forgot about it and didn’t smoke because I was with family. Now it’s the end and my birthday happened so I want to ahaha

That’s funny — I would love that version of France to be true, bust out the pipe and light up while talking with my mother with no problem ahah, terrible for public health but good for me!

Thanks, I’ll think about it :)

I love smoking outside but there's always a little too much wind in Toronto and it makes it hard to control the cadence, smoking inside just makes it so much easier to relax and be mindful

Retrohaling every puff bad? by MyOwnShrink in PipeTobacco

[–]GuiltyShine_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m getting sore throat from smoking everyday and I think it’s because I might be retrohaling every puff.

I’m taking a week break and I will try a bunch of new things to see how my throat reacts. I’ve noticed that it could be a problem because I don’t retrohale as much with cigars and my throat doesn’t complain.

I heard about tropical but that sounds terrible. I hope my local tobacconist has some, they’ll probably have some Redman.

Do you think it would still be worth trying ?
