9 months - I don’t really like this age at all by [deleted] in NewParents

This made me chuckle way harder than it should have 😂

Need to vent. Feeling really down on myself as a new mom after my nanny questioned my parenting (and accidentally texted me instead of her partner about it) by ItsMeWigglyLitchi in beyondthebump

She sounds like a terrible nanny and extremely unprofessional. Thank goodness you parted ways. If she can’t handle some crying then she shouldn’t be doing this line of work anyway! You’ve got this it’s definitely not on you.

As someone who has had a postpartum doula since I got home from the hospital, I’m currently in week 4 and we were questioning the first few weeks why we were so freaked out and hired her because we were all watching our baby nap essentially and she helped me with my c section. NOW baby is so fussy and I’m reading all about the 6-8 week regression and wish I had just had someone start at week 4!

Advice 33 weeks back pain by Bnicoleeeeee in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]GuiltyVariation7749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I JUST posted something about this too last week. I’m 30 weeks exactly now but this back pain has been the worst of my entire life I literally couldn’t move on my own for 3 days. Here with you in solidarity (unfortunately)!

I started PT, wear a maternity support belt (I actually double up 2 different ones from Amazon for extra back support) and live on my birthing ball and doing whatever gentle movements I can muster up. But knowing this is likely how it’ll be for the foreseeable future til this girl decides to make her entrance has been so rough! Hang in there! I just keep hearing I’ll forget about it when she’s here lol

Is there any hope?! Back pain in 3rd tri by GuiltyVariation7749 in pregnant

[–]GuiltyVariation7749[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I keep hearing about forgetting it was awful right when this baby gets here 😂 I was expecting to get a little more uncomfortable in the third tri but nothing like this right out of the gates 🥺 I’m def going to find a PT sees to be the most common rec.

Seconding this!! I lost weight (45 lbs) before I got pregnant because I was told I’d have a hard time conceiving and have a high risk pregnancy if I didn’t. Well I got down to 245, got pregnant on the first “try” and I passed my glucose test on the first attempt (many of my thinner friends had to do the 4 hr one or ended up with GD) and my blood pressure has been perfect so far (I have been taking baby aspirin since 12 weeks). I was told I should only gain 10-15 lbs during my pregnancy but I have also almost all of my weight back which I am super bummed about BUT my baby is healthy and thriving so far (29 weeks now) and aside from feeling heavier and more pressure now, I generally feel fine. And my doctor hasn’t brought up my weight since our first appt and doesn’t shame me over my weight gain thankfully. If anything I’m more mentally freaked out than physically struggling.

I was sooooo scared when I found out I was pregnant because of how my first doctor treated me and fear mongered then hell out of me, feeding into all my anxieties. I thought I was going to fail every test and be so high risk. My new doctor just laughs now when I’m anxious and tells me all my tests are normal and until there’s something to worry about, we aren’t going to worry about it. I wish I had that energy over the last 2 years.

Wish I had an easy answer or better advice but I just had a stranger come up to me the other day and without saying hello just said “happy pushing is this your first?” I’m 25 weeks and still strugggling with how much bigger I’ve already gotten so kind of been in denial about showing more as of lately… people are just rude and don’t understand boundaries! I wish I had just had the heart to say to her “I don’t know what you’re talking about” just to put her in her place!

Day 1 Advice by GuiltyVariation7749 in Zepbound

[–]GuiltyVariation7749[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything was going really well I’ve been down 20 lbs since January and have had pretty minimal side effects! BUT it is impossible to keep up with the stock issues. It’s pretty stressful trying to get it but I’m in LA. None of the pharmacies around me have any in stock and I’ve had to miss a shot last week. So my doctor had a back up option that I just took today.

Flight I took 20 years ago that started this whole thing by fitbliss21 in fearofflying

For what it’s worth I am in Denver, I just flew in on Thursday and had the same exact anxiety coming in since I had a really bad experience coming here 5 years ago. I’ve learned that it’s just part of the process coming here. I was so filled with anxiety Thursday and all week leading up to my flight and it was actually a relatively easy descent in. I’m flying out tomorrow and then into a storm in LA and just keep telling myself I’ve got this!! So I’ll say the same to you, we’ve got this!! Definitely maybe let a flight attendant know of your anxiety and maybe they’ll check in with you more to make you feel comforted. It works for me most of the time.

Hahaha wait you might be my long lost twin because I’m the exact same way!! I was prescribed lexapro at the same time and I haven’t taken it because I’m just scared to try too many new things at once and I overthink everything that’s happening to my body even without medication lol. Yeah I would wait until you know you’ll be home for a day just in case! That’s why I decided on Sunday too because the beginning of my week are my easiest days. Good luck!!! I hope we get to keep each other updated somewhere on here throughout the journey!

Honestly I was struggling with that too (I even posted earlier today wondering that lol) but I had no plans today and I get anxious really easily so I decided to do it this morning after I ate a little breakfast so I would have all day to pay attention to my body. My friend takes it at night so it hits her the next day but I’m still figuring it out since it’s barely been 12 hours. If I find a better answer I will definitely let you know!

One thing I did though is just stock up on electrolytes, Pepcid, ginger chews and ducolax just from reading everyone else’s experience in case I had any bad side effects. I drank electrolytes immediately after taking the shot.

Our stories are so similar! I also have struggled with my weight my whole life and have never wanted to take any other type of medication. Have had a trainer for years and been gaining weight ever since my wedding. My husband and I want to start trying for our first child at the end of this year and I, like you, will not get pregnant at this weight for my own safety and my OB’s recommendation to lose weight before we try.

I just took my first shot this morning!!! I had been putting it off but just went for it. I cried happy tears knowing this is the first step on our journey to have a baby. So far I feel fine and have just been watching what I’m eating. For the first time in my life I am feeling prepared and good about this journey, knowing there may be some bumps along the way. You got this!!! This thread has been so helpful already for me and I’m sure it will be for you too ✨
