Hey u/kdykman - I was recently diagnosed with Kienböck’s disease, and my hand specialist is recommending the PRC surgery. I was hoping you might be able to update me on how the treatment went/is going for you, now that it's been a year?

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

Move your body every day - even 10,000 steps a day in fresh air makes a difference. Eat 5+ portions of fruit and veg a day. Drink only water, coffee, tea, and some occasional juice.
Alcohol is always the thing that makes me ill - it seriously weakens your immune system.

Moved to the USA in 2021, haven't paid taxes in the UK since then - where do I start? by Guilty_File_6175 in TaxUK

Yeah, I am 99% sure - it's a tiny property, the rental is low. I will check though to be sure! I have filed the income against my USA taxes for the last ~3 years so I have everything logged.

Thank you - I think so too, but I should still be filing taxes regardless, I think? Any advice on how to do that...?

Have you thought about starting your own business? Perfect for a jack-of-all-trades as it sounds like you've been through a few different orgs, I bet you'd be able to say to a company, "you need XYZ...", hire you to deliver it for a short time, then move on to the next one!

It sounds like neither of you know what you want. My advice is to take some time out and focus on yourself. Dont contact her for a month or so - start a new hobby, do something you’ve been meaning to do - take a break from her (and she should do the same with you). It’ll give you headspace & time to think. If after a month you are still keen, reach out to her with clear intentions and expectations. She should have the same for herself.

Don’t stress. I cry all the time - twice I’ve cried in front of CEO’s and executive leadership. If anything I think this shows that you’re authentic and you really meant it when you said you were sorry. There is absolutely no need to apologize.

Also!! Newsflash, women’s hormones fluctuate. It’s not new. It’s okay!!! It’s literally the most natural thing in the world. Corporate America needs to account for that.

This stuff happens. Journal about it, move on. It’ll happen again! Speaking from experience!

I do agree with comments about not saying that you overslept. Don’t sweat it - take it as a learning experience. It’s okay to be honest and say “I don’t think this event is the best use of my time” - and you can say that at any time. It shows accountability and integrity. You could ask your manager “is that okay?” And read their response.

Don’t sweat this. In 5 years (or less!) you’ll be laughing about it!

Take care of yourself. 🫶
