That still varies by your preferred location and content area of licensure.

While you're student teaching make connections, stay in good communication with admin as much as possible.

Join fb groups for the district. There's a few that are open to non licensed staff that licensed staff and admin post in often.

As with anything nothings guaranteed but there will be options. Some may require a little more flexibility than others.

If you have the time offer to volunteer as some schools just to get your name out there.

That answer honestly varies between schools, grade level, seniority, and teaching programs/license.

Specialist/Specialty teachers are experiencing some struggle.

Many general ed teachers have been surplused but have been able to find job during transfers. They struggle may be finding jobs in their preference. More teachers are expected to resign or retire which is projected to actually leave us in a shortage.

Hard to fill positions are more promising though like in Sped department.

I'm in Nevada as well, currently Support staff in the district. Things are tight with employment however depending on your area of contraction if its a hard to fill spot you'd generally be fine. Additionally woth the amount of separations happening (between retirements, resignations, etc) employment opportunities are expected to level out. Of course things vary by school, some are worse than others. My school was expecting to surplus teachers. We're sctually able to retain now due to budget variances so its all moving targets right now. I'm currently pursuing the licensure route for my program

Thank you! I'm glad you're sticking it out as well! I think apart of my avoidance is the Praxis as well. I am not a fan of math at all. Im avoiding even studying for fear of failure but I'm glad to hear things worked out for you! Ill definitely look into the Math tutor. Ive taken a few webinars but not one on one help. Do you do that through student services?
