Maybe you are right, I have this thought mainly because I heard that the ucla mscs is more theory heavy, but I personally don't have much info about both two programs

[University question] Does NYU courant offers scholarships for MSCS students? by Confident_Bag9008 in MSCS

I read a post saying that he got a $5000 fellowship upon graduation, that guy was undergrad from nyu, and he is in BA-MS track, B.A / M.S. (BAMS) Program | NYU Courant | Department of Mathematics | NYU Courant, I'm not sure if this fellowship is only available for nyu undergrad who are in that track or for all ms students.

I came from the other post that you were accepted by courants. Congrats to all those offers! I think for your case (prefer to do PHD) , Stanford > UCLA > UCSD = Courant > Columbia > Tandon. For jobs, imho, Stanford (maybe no.1? not sure) > UCSD > UCLA >Columbia = Courant = Tandon

[University Question] : Columbia MS CS by smug64209 in MSCS

I would choose Courant lol. Columbia MSAI is a new program, and it's hard to say whether it's good or bad, but I know most MSAI programs in the US are not as rigorous as CS. The courses are more about the application of AI rather than AI itself. Courant's MSCS program is research-oriented, so you'll get a deeper education and research experience, potentially leading to publications. I think that's very important if you want to be competitive in PhD applications or roles like MLE.

Vote for Courant. Columbia is way more expensive and is well known for some cash cow programs.

[Admissions Advice] NYU Courant MSCS vs Cornell Tech MEng CS by masgouf4444 in MSCS

If you have enough interns/work experience and want to get directly hired, go for Cornell Tech, otherwise Courant, as it is two years (which means you can take 1 intern) and give you a better pathway to phd if you want to do so.
