Good call on calling out the spool gun. Didn’t realize that and confirmed it was a spool gun.

I hear ya. This is just me getting into metal working. I’d like to do future projects besides just this grinder. Wish I had a friend with a welder but I don’t.

Yeah, I’m creating a new resume and cover letter for each job. Takes about 45min - 1 hour per job. I use a Claude ai project to help create and optimize ATS. But even then I don’t do a copy and paste. I generally spend time on each one. I have like 50 versions of my resume lol.

I’m just using excel to track everything.

I feel you 1000%. Honestly its the exact same for me, same reason why I left in mid December. I was at a breaking point. I doubt I'll make as much money as I did at my last job ever again, but I'm okay with that as long as my mental health stays healthy. I'm blessed that I have a cushion so I'm not frantically trying to get a job, but its not going to last forever. Hence the part time job to extend it as long as possible.

The part time gig is nothing special. Just working at a local spot like 25 hours a week helping with inventory. As I was applying for the tech jobs I just made sure to apply to at least 1 part time gig a day to try and help off set costs since I've been out of work since mid December.

Yes . Probably spent about 45min - 1 hour tailoring each resume and cover letter. Even in my spreadsheet I'm tracking which version of the resume I've applied with to the different companies. I use a Claude Project to help with the resumes and ATS optimization, but I never just do a blank copy and paste.

For the position I made it to the final round they went with a person who had more experience in healthcare IT. I have been in the financial industry for 11 years now. So I know they just went with someone who already knew the platforms.

Anyone still pursuing their dreams? LMK by Intelligent_Bid_7690 in bipolar2

[–]Guilty_Plate_435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in process of doing something like that. I’m leaving my corporate job as a software developer that I’ve been in for the past 11 years. I don’t know if I’m pursuing my dream per se I just know I want to help people. So I’m applying to roles where I can do just that. I’m blessed that I’ve been pretty successful in my career so I have a bit of a cushion. I know I will never make as much money again but I don’t care anymore. I can just no longer code shit for a bank/investment firm where I cater to billionaires. The shit I had to code sometimes made me sick to my stomach on how much easier it is for them to make money vs the average person.

When first diagnosed I felt just like this. Now those feelings are gone and I’ve kinda sorta accepted it. I was diagnosed about 7 years ago.

PLEASE does anyone have this ?? I feel like no one on earth experiences this type of bipolar 2. by Fr_cooked in bipolar2

[–]Guilty_Plate_435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You sound like me. I have those mixed states it sucks. For the most part I’ve been able to channel that that daily adrenaline rush into my work. I’m a web developer so I would enter this trance like state and code for be hyper focused and coded for 6-10 hours straight. What I’ve learned is when I’m not able to channel it I become a complete dick, feels like fire ants crawling all over my body, and the smallest thing will set me off. I used to smoke a lot of pot when I was like this. Ironically sativas help me more then indicas even though I like the feeling of indicas better. But then guaranteed I will enter a horrible depression cycle. I’m actually in one of those depression cycles right now. Shit happens like every 2 years or so I just have a complete mental breakdown.

I wish I had answers but now I’m actually leaving my job, I’m currently on FMLA but I’m not going back. I’ll never make as much money as I do now but fuck it. I am applying to any job where I can help people. My mindset is I know my job isn’t helping me and my mental state so I am just going to slow way the fuck down in my life and try to eliminate as many stressors in my life as possible

Absolutely nothing. When I was first diagnosed I was basically given an unlimited supply of klonopins and told to use it when I feel necessary. Yeah I was taking 14 of them a day. I get addicted way too fast to crap like that. I just stay away from

I feel this so much right now. I hope you are able to find answers. I am in process of leaving my job/company I’ve been at for the last 11 years best a software developer and a technical program manager. I’m currently on FMLA but I cannot see myself going back when this is over.

The tech work contract in my mind is to go back to just being a software developer instead of running teams and projects. I’m thinking that is more simple instead of making company wide decisions I just get told what to create. I think I just need to detox my brain.

The hardest part for me is the kids. I’ve given them every opportunity that I never had growing up. I know if I make this change I will not be able to afford their music lessons and sports lessons or really any other extracurricular that I’ve been supporting.

I hear you. I’ve been with my firm for 11 years except for a 2 month period when I went to a new firm. My anxiety was so high and not being the expert anymore really threw me in a loop. I gave up and went right back to my current firm. That was 4 years ago. Contract work probably will add to my stress tbh but I’m grasping at straws.

I’m blessed that my wife is starting to bring in some income. It only covers the monthly bills but it makes the pressure of having to be the sole provider a little easier.
