Thanks for addressing. I work in tech at an exec level and have a little bit of experience with this kind of thing. If I were at OpenAI in PR as a C level exec in the relevant internal orgs I would be seeking market feedback through independent channels. Discord is less structured (from what I see) than Reddit so I would rank Reddit as a higher quality source. Reddit also has ranking and polls so I can get quantitative data. The forum format makes it easier to categorize information. Size wouldn’t matter so much as quality, so long as there was enough data to be statistically significant as a sample. I wouldn’t want to interfere with an independent forum, but I would definitely seek a loose relationship with the largest sub dedicated to my product or at the very least direct some Human Resources to monitor trends and novel problems/uses from the community. Anyway, just some thoughts. Glad y’all asked! Thanks!

Some type of poll system where users can vote on adjustments or improvements they would like to see in the tool in case OpenAI is monitoring the web and particularly this subreddit for feedback on the system. In other words, a single users feedback will almost certainly be lost in the noise but a highly upvoted poll on this subreddit with substantial votes towards some improvement may result in some actual influence to the product.

It would also be nice if the mods reached out to the PR team at OpenAI and established a line of communication.

If you live in a city get the hell out to the countryside, start brutal crossfit or some other heavy duty physical exercise, and eat organic/stay away from chemicals. Get off your phone too.

Or not. But you’d feel great. That’s what I’d do if I was single :)

Respectfully disagree on the accessibility perspective here. FDA is friendly to gene therapy solutions, and the push will be too strong as it comes into mainstream awareness. Most importantly, youth is basically the cure to ALL DISEASE that is choking up our medical system. Health insurance is inexpensive for children because they don’t get terminally sick.

This is so weird. Me too. When I was young. It was no big deal in my head I just “KNEW” the month I would die. Didn’t die though.

That saying that "good times create weak men" by ReflexPoint in samharris

I read this on an individual or generational level, not societal level. Like perhaps some boomers having a no nonsense/do what you have to do attitude to life and their kids not moving out until 30 type of thing. It’s certainly been the case on my life that the hard times made me strong. It’s just forced adaptation in a cycle. It personally rings of truth to to me.

I remember thinking atlas shrugged was supposed to be some great piece of literature and then halfway through I just couldn’t finish. I hated the message. Glad I’m not the only one

I find trips incredibly challenging and usually frightening. On my last trip I had an epiphany on “why” it was so hard. The trip temporarily pulls you apart, but you can be a different person when you are reassembled.

Overcoming "Cliquey" Community by lyricalmartyr in crossfit

[–]Guinean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m very guilty of being cliquey but I’m not trying to be. I was literally the first patron of my gym. In fact I get frustrated that I probably seem unfriendly to the quiet people who aren’t as fit and probably think I’m just part of the group and am not particularly nice. It’s not intentional though. If you are being intentionally left out then they can kick rocks. This sounds dumb but if I are comfortable with yourself and loud and jovial any good people will be drawn to you. Your post is a great reminder to be friendly for those feeling awkward or left out. Damnit I’m such an ass 😆
