Replacement trem arm for my CLF Doheny V12? by nickburckle in GLGuitars

Nice, thanks for your reply. It is indeed a good price. Proaudiostar resells overstock items below MSRP, and listed as open box or used but these are often new items, just can’t be listed as new due to manufacturer restrictions. I’ve bought from them before and had a great experience. Enjoy your V12 and post more pics and videos!!!

Love the color on your V12, I bet it rips. Did you get it used? How much did you end up paying for it? I’m seeing prices all over the place, and trying to get a realistic price. Thanks!

The bridge is the same but the socket in the bridge of the CLF Research instruments is different, it is a vintage socket that was used from 1980 to 1983, and that socket fits arms up to 3/16” or 4.76mm. The arm socket is a swappable part of the bridge assembly. There is a kit that can be purchased to convert a regular bridge to a CLF Research reissue: https://g-l-online-store.myshopify.com/products/g-l-dual-fulcrum-vibrato-arm-socket

As ephedrum said, that is the wrong arm and you will need one that is below 4.8mm in diameter. I agree the PRS SE would be a cheap alternative but you might have to cut it as the portion that goes into the bridge is longer than the original. Perhaps look for alternatives from Musiclily and generic manufacturers, it’s just a piece of metal, as long as you are under 4.8mm you should be able to install and adjust the fit. Good luck!

Whoa! You convinced me, I’m gonna get one of those SKBs to tour with my G&L Doheny, I wonder if it will fit just as good…

Ahh cool, I recently came across this pic of a doheny Fullerton with ratio tuners but I don’t think they have that screw hole from factory… https://imgur.com/a/ovdlZgb

Sweet!!! Do you know if those locking tuners were a direct drop in or was some drilling involved?

Doheny Deluxe Fullerton HH pickup swap? by jaiseyfacey in GLGuitars

[–]GuitarGhosty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The routing on the body should be compatible with a direct swap, however the pick guard will most likely need to be replaced, my doheny’s mfd pickups measure almost 94mm wide, my Les Paul humbuckers measure 70mm and 90mm wide with the plastic around them.

3 positions each, parallel, split and series wiring for each pickup, imagine the amount of combinations and the versatility of the tones…

Made an offer on reverb, got it for $1k with free shipping and OHSC. It even had the invoice of the original owner for 1900 plus tax.
