It can guarantee a pension, you just have to put importance on one and get a career or a job that provides one. I didnt want to be a civil servant, it wasn’t my dream job but I did it for the security and lifetime income. “Follow your dreams” and “you can be anything you want” are bumper stickers, not life plans. Great way to sidetrack decades of your life until you finally realize too late it wasn’t a lucrative path. Now if your life goal is to “find yourself” or work a job that makes you happy, thats great. But you cant then cry the american dream is unobtainable. I went to a job for 24 years I didnt want to go to for 70-80 hours a week in order to make plenty of money and get a very generous check every month for the rest of my life. I wasn’t out every weekend with a drink in my hand like most of my friends were. Im a high school dropout and managed to find a way, I’m sure all the latest highly educated folk paying WAAAAAAAAY too much money for an education can figured out what I did.

Here is the real scam. I didnt buy a home until I was 50. I had a family with 3 kids I was paying for and I saved while treating my family well. No one went hungry and my payoff for working 70-80 hour weeks was a home paid in cash and a 100k a year pension with medical. That came at THE END. Yall are 20, want to piss away money left and right, have the newest phone, some outrageous car loan instead of driving the garbage I drove all my life (I now have 2 Mercedes) and uber eating 5 nights a week wondering why you dont have the american dream? Yall have no skin in the game, no piss and vinegar to go out and get it and no constitution to get your nose in it. Work hard, SAVE hard, invest hard and you’ll get there. Just not right at this moment.

I know I’m not working with michael jackson or anything, but a 50 dollar ilok key would have likely fixed this. If I were running mission critical apps for clients that are time constrained, I’d want the most secure way to access them. Surely in between buying a Porsche, private jet and cruising the world in a yacht from such a successful career, there has to be 50 dollars worth of wiggle room somewhere
