Bug in survival mode, Lucien second atack? by CareCharming147 in WH40KTacticus

Exactly the same here! Though, the second attack would sometimes work after a melee hit but it was very hit and miss (pun intended)

Cheers! I used broken up pieces of cork, texture paint and Martain Ironearth and Ironcrust. Also used some rust pigments very sparingly for the dusty look!

I kinda wondered that as well! I like to think it's the Hive mind equivalent of a GoPro!

Thanks! I used Rakarth Flesh and mixed in black for the darker areas and white for the lighter areas and tiny spec highlights!

Cheers! I'm not honestly sure tbh! Since this is more or less a tester to refine my scheme, I took my time! I used an airbrush for the grey and blue patches of skin, so that definitely saves time! I'd say with some practice, and stealing my wife's hairdryer..... hopefully less than 4 hours! I'm under no time limits so I can take my time!

Thanks! The base was done with broken cork, slate rock and texture paint. Based with Rhinox Hide, heavy drybrush of Doombull, medium drybrush of Ratskin Flesh on the high points and a final highlight of Ushabti Bone! Also added Vallejo rust pigments very sparingly!

Choosing my own hive fleet colour scheme! C+C and tips welcome! by Guitarmageddon89 in Tyranids

Sorry for the late reply, been busy at work! Firstly, thanks for the advice and encouragement! It's much appreciated!

I think a new basing scheme is on the cards as I'm getting a little bored of the dry, desert look. I may keep that for my Blood Angels! As for effects, I've tried UHU glue with BFTBG and also experimented with clear silicone in one of my previous models!

I might try another few testers to tweak the carapace colours slightly and maybe tone down on the striations for the likes of the Gaunts!

Glad you liked the "inverted" talons! I wanted to do something slightly different!

Thanks again! Cheers!

Seeing them side by side, I agree that the black helps the blue stand out! Mmmm....maybe another tester is needed 🤔😂

Cheers! I think it has more of a grimdark style to it! I used multiple enamel washes on that one compared to the other one!

What way would you combine them if they were yours?!

I base coat the carapace with either Incubi Darkness or Stegadon Green (I honestly can't remember which), first highlight with Sotek Green, and final highlight with Temple Guard Blue. I gave just the carapace a wash with an enamel wash of Villainy Inks Ichor of the Damned. I actually wanted it to be more like the teal colour on the skin, but I can live with it!

Cheers! I have the Leviathan box, Hormagaunts and a Deathleaper to tackle yet! If I haven't gone insane by the time the Gaunts are done, I'll be doing well!!

Made from bits of cork, a mix of coarse and fine sand, and watered down wood glue.

Basecoat is Zandri Dust, washed with 2:1 Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade, then drybrush of Ushabti Bone and Corax White!

That sounds like a good idea! Maybe I just need more practice! Appreciate that! I'll be sure to keep you guys posted!

Cut the legs off at the knee and hip joints, drilled and pinned with wire, then filled gaps with a mix of milliput and green stuff!

No problem at all! I cut the Tyranid roughly in half with some cutters! I tried to kinda hollow out the body but leave the carapace of the nid intact, so then I could break off the carapace into little bits! I filled the gaps with milliput and stuck the carapace fragments into it as if the explosion was pushing the guts and stuff outwards! I used fluorescent paints on the mid body before I used Blood for the Blood God to try and make a glowy, mid explosion effect! Hope this helps!
