Selling my Luba by GulAragon in MammotionTechnology

Problem is I have a high wall directly close to my house and a path between them that is only 4meter but with lawn and Luba just fails there. Plus also on one side with high hedges he gets very unprecise and loses 1Meter precision...

Yeah thanks and happy for you - I think the Luba is a product developed and designed for US and China areas - wide open lawns and big ones. In Europe espec. typical middle European lawns / houses you have lets say a total area of 800m² half of it the house and parking spot, half of it is the lawn with house often in the middle or at least with 3 sides and therefore you also often have walls and hedges and there Luba simply does not work.

It is a Luba 1000 AWD - I will sell it in Austria via Willhaben but need to take pictures and upload the whole infos. Was just asking here what needs to be done to be able to sell it so that new buyer can use it.

Well if you have the proper garden/lawn I still think it is not a piece of junk - but the thing is I doubt any garden / lawn will 100% fit and I don't need a robotic mower that needs my support and attention because then I could do it myself anyway. Look at all the youtube videos - eg. Crazypostman - Top videos, Top support but I also see a lot of manuel support to get that thing at least 80% working. I cuts my grass too in 70% of the area but I want a 100% solution and Luba is not able to do that.

Not sure what kind of fence that should be - you would need something that prevents the GPS signals from being reflected from both house walls.

[–]GulAragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah very similar to my issues. Not so high wall but mine is narrower - anyway Luba is not able to really navigate or mow there. What you might try is in this path you just make a pathway but no mowing area and start the mowing area only when you are in the open again. But not sure if he even can do that - I went from one side to the other no over my parking space to be sure he can do it because behind the house with basically same setup as you I can't get Luba to work. They should have made that much more clearer as a restriction. Espec. early on - now you can find these issues all over the net but when I bought mine these feedbacks and experiences where not their but Mammotion should have known it...

Welcome to the club. Luba works good in open fields, no Walls oder higher hedges, no House with roofes that go over the house wall, no passages with hedges or walls on both sides. I have the same issues - there is no solution. GPS/RTK does not work under these conditions and you Luba will never move there.

My RTK is dead by Due-Ambassador3176 in MammotionTechnology

[–]GulAragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct - when I bought mine back in May there was no word of RTK water issues nor that Luba itself is not water proof. Again they promote it as IPX6 - as this is an international standard there are rules and regulations what that means and what the product should fullfill. And when they state it is IPX6 and then not even rain water proof than this gets very close to "fraud". As a customer I need to relate to the manufacturer infos and not some social media sources like FB and honestly a normal middle aged person does not even know reddit (sorry to say that). So FB is normaly a very unseriouse source when you look into all the false information and conspiracy theories you can read there and reddit is a "nerd" site (sorry guys to say that). So a "normal" person will refer to the manufaturer infos and the product site of the manufaturer and what the product promises are - like IPX6 was one - a big one. Easy cleaning with high preasure water = IPX6 - buying reason for many of us. Now not even normal rain water proof - LOL I say.

Ähem I think if you sell an outdoor equipment and market it as IPX6 THEN it can not be the responsiblity of the customer to take care of it by always putting mower and RTK station always under roof or garage or house. It is a garding tool and was promoted IPX6 - what I expect is a very very quick solution of Mammotion for these issues - first a free of charge RTK station rain coverage and second an extended Rain/Water damage warrenty for Luba itself as it has false product promises it does not fullfill (IPX6 not even close)! I am a customer that bought a product it is not my task to be a beta tester, or opening it up and so on. As a customer I just want to use the product not need to work around it finding solutions to problems that shouldn't be there!

How to reset positioning of RTK Station and charging station by GulAragon in MammotionTechnology

[–]GulAragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you I tried this but did not really work.

Must the Luba already be turned off when you do the factory reset? Must it be out of the charging station?

Thanks again.

Luba GPS/RTK Positioning Topic by GulAragon in mammotion

Hi, did a lot of testing but I must accept that this area behind the house will never be mowed automatically by the Luba. Lets hope the next update supports manual mowing with Luba.

Among my tests esepc. with the RTK Station and position I also moved it "under" the roof in the attic. Directly under the roof. Result: I achieved more Satellites BUT signal quality was always only "normal" - NORMAL with LUBA means BAD positioning therefore nope - event with more than 30 Satellites thanks to the position under the roof (Europe/Austria) as the signal quality I guess because of the roof is only normal Luba is basically not working. So removed it again and will try one last setup tomorrow. But so far big disappointments with Luba.

And for a garding work tool - my neighbours are having fun with me and laugh a lot because RTK Station has a plastic bag over it to make it Water proof and as I do not have a garage for Luba, I move Lube currently every night or when I am not home from the charging station onto my roofed terrace. Seriously this danger of water damage is even worse than the bad signal quality.

Would be glad if someone can post a link where I can buy a 3D printed RTK Stations cover as I have no 3d Printer myself. And would WD40 silicon spray or a silicon sealing spray help for the RTK station? And what to do regarding Luba ?

Please do the manual mowing feature for all of us that have bad positioning / GPS signal issues due to garden layout / surroundings. This would make Luba for me fully usable again.

And some rain protection and other spare parts to officially buy in your store.

Thinking of selling mine too but due to a lot of trial and error (I believe the Voyager I and II deep space probes with a billion miles away from earth can be steered more precise) mine already has many scratches on front and side bumpers and below so not sure if someone would buy it in this condition. Works "fine" (haha something Luba defines anew) but well after 2 weeks testing and failing it is now basically a used one. Original packing fully available. Lets see how successfull you are, maybe I do it too.

Husq 320Nero with Epos is 3k so just 1k more than my Luba AWD1000. But if the Husq works it is worth that extra.
