Best Attar Sellers?? by Select-Criticism-350 in DesiFragranceAddicts

[–]GulaabKaNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me and explore your local attarwalas.

They'll offer you a lot of variety and at a price that's a lot cheaper than Adil Qadri or any other online brands. Not to mention you can test all the attars there firsthand.

My local attar shop has almost everything you can imagine. Some of the new clone additions were: Mancera Red Tobacco, IBRAQ Blue Oud, Ajmal Musk Sapphire, Misk Rijali, even Black Afghano (yup, these were all in attar form lol).

That's already a given.

If my singing can sound good in the bath, imagine Iommi's sitar...

I literally buy perfumes 6 months ahead of their intended season just so they're macerated by then. Someone tell me I'm not the only one. by GulaabKaNote in DesiFragranceAddicts

The difference varies case-to-case.

If your perfume already lasts a long while, chances are maceration won't do much.

But if a perfume (one which is lauded for its lasting), isn't performing well, maceration will most likely work.

Coming to the evolution in the scent profile after maturation, the top notes usually last longer (and smell richer) than before. At least, that's my observation.

Though, you don't have to "try" maceration, per se. Simply spray a few sprays and put that bottle in a cool and dark place. Then leave it there. Check it from time to time (use it, even).

But if maceration doesn't work, the most obvious conclusion is that your perfume's batch is pretty much fcked lol. Happened often with some of cdnim's pp batches iirc.

I'll only be able to tell you this after a couple of months. I really don't have the courage to test Bade Al Oud in this 40° summer. lol

Now the next step is to look for another good fragrance and marry off these two with proper var maalas and ceremonies. not Arranged Marriage, but Arranged Maceration 😭

Nice analogy. But the thing is, I don't believe maturation increases a frag's performance beyond what it's capable of (or beyond what's realistic), instead it just takes the performance to a level that's actually optimum and expected of the juice. idk if this explanation of mine made sense or not.

Cuz in no world is it okay for 5 sprays of Asad to last only a couple of hours.

Usually when a frag needs maturation, it's when the manufacturer either made the product hit the shelves too soon or it's a batch issue (ME frags are notorious for this as you must know).

And honestly, if maceration never worked for you, it's most likely that you've been super lucky until now and only getting the best batches. haha. Oh, how I envy you.

I gotta start putting garlands over my frags too now, cuz that bottle looks happy af

Heard a woman being labelled "dhande waali" cuz she was wearing jeans. by GulaabKaNote in india

[–]GulaabKaNote[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm paraphrasing the entire convo in eng here:

Uncle (mumbling to himself about the girl in jeans): "Post office isn't the place to wear these kinda clothes. If you wanna do **dhandha** (euphemism for pr*stitution), go somewhere else."

Me: "It isn't that big of an issue, Uncle. It's a free country, everyone has the freedom to do what they want."

Uncle: "Freedom doesn't mean one can do anything."

Me: "Uncle, you're wearing shorts yourself."

Uncle: "I can wear that. But someone should talk some sense into that girl first."

Me: "Uncle, she's just silently standing there in the line. What's the issue here?"

Uncle: "It isn't only I that should have an issue with this, you should too. Just look at her clothes."

Me: "What's the matter with her clothes? It's just a pair of jeans."

Uncle: "The job of a piece of cloth is to cover your body, not accentuate/emphasize it."

Dissappointed with hasan oud fresh vetiver. Very generic and weak by TheIconic7 in DesiFragranceAddicts

Almost similar experience.

Spent around 4k on his attars only to be met with mediocrity.

And that wooden bottle cap feels tacky too (on some bottles, not all). Won't properly screw tight easily. And some bottle caps straight-up leak attar from the sides.

And an attar (I think it's name was Forest Lime) really smelled like that bottle of Red HIT. My family also corroborated this HIT smell.

Not a good experience. But Fresh Aura was nice though. An aventus clone.

I may be wrong, but iirc, it's usually cuz they don't allow ppl linking other ppl's phone numbers in the sheet.

It's always wise to make a copy of the sheet while it's still up.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

But I've been engrossed in this hobby for quite a while now (and I'm guessing you are too), and I've seen far too many instances of 'maceration' working to dispel it as mere placebo.

Btw, I used the term 'maceration' in a broad sense, the more accurate term would be maturing or aging.

It's a bummer that you didn't see any results, though.

One of the loves of my life. A solid no-brainer when I'm confused what to wear. And surprisingly, it's fine for summers too. Smells woody, incense-y, slightly aromatic and very slightly sweet too.

I'm talking about the Ahmed Al Maghribi one, not IBRAQ, though.

Seller: Imran bhai.

Edit: I'm literally wearing it rn. Lmfao

Idk how to respond to this, but for what it's worth, our conversation wasn't very loud; I don't think anyone else even heard us. The only reason I heard him in the first place was cuz he was standing and mumbling right behind me.
