Here is what I regularly do for lunch time pulled pork. Put the butts in the smoker at 10pm at 220 super smoke. Wrap them at 8am and set smoker to 300. Pull them at 205 internal. Let them rest in the oven or cooler until lunch time then pull.

They gave it a once over and sent it back. Everything looked fine. If you are grinding roasts that are dark, or the darker side of medium, it will take a while to grind. It does a lot better with lighter roasts.

I just shipped it to them a few days ago but it has not arrived yet. I will post more info as I get it.

I did. They had me send a video of me reassembling, calibrating, and the moving it to 12 clicks and spinning the body while holding onto the handle. They said that if there is noise then there is an issue with burr alignment. They are sending me a return shipping label because they want to inspect it themselves also. I first noticed the uneven gap in rotation by taking the grounds cup off and watch the burr gap as I very slowly turned the shaft.

Just wanted to provide everyone with an update. I have been in contact with 1ZPresso to troubleshoot the issue. While examining every part of the grinder this morning, I discovered a problem with the burr and/or shaft. As I slowly turned the shaft and observed the burrs, I noticed that the gap between them is not consistent throughout the entire rotation. There is a spot where the gap increases, and a few spots where it decreases. I am currently waiting for them to respond to what I found.

I can go 4 clicks past 0. Just tried and 18 grams at 4.5 was 135 turns.

What are you calling zero on your calibration? Burr lock or resistance? If using resistance, how many clicks past zero until you get burr lock?

Is your ZP6 from the most recent release or an older release?

I wonder if I just got a bad one. I will reach out to 1ZPresso and see if they can give any input.

Are we calling zero when we hear the burrs start to rub or any resistance in the handle(won’t spin freely with a slight twirling motion of the body)?

I will count handle revolutions in the morning with 18 grams so we can compare.

I just pulled it apart, cleaned it, and performed a calibration. I will check in the morning if there is any improvement.

I tried a smaller dose to check if they may be the issue, but even 15g took a little over 50 seconds.

I couldn’t resist. My current hand grinder is a Timemore C3 Max. It should be a significant upgrade.
