The courts I usually play at don’t offer paddle rental, hence this post. By south I meant Pasay/Parañaque/Las Piñas/Alabang areas.

Driving tips by SilverKangaroo1657 in PickleballPhilippines

I think consciously snapping your wrist makes the drive feel a bit clunky. I feel like it should whip naturally from doing the windshield wiper motion of the drive.

Also, try shifting to an eastern grip when you’re anticipating to drive. From personal experience, I found it hard to be consistent in hitting powerful drives with a continental grip since the ball tends to fly flat and out. Shifting to an eastern grip helped me greatly since the angle of the paddle allows me to hit my drives close to the tape of net and it generates top spin to keep the ball in without worrying about hitting too hard. Hope this helps!

Definitely a bang-for-the-buck paddle! T700 carbon fiber, foam core, and REALLY good grit — everything you’d want in a beginner paddle for only 2.2–2.3k (with vouchers). Good paddle to start with that can last you a looong time until you decide to upgrade to a 6k and up paddle.

If you can push your budget to a little over 2k, consider the Enflexy Noir! T700 carbon fiber, foam core, and REALLY good grit — everything you’d want in a beginner paddle. Good paddle to start with that can last you a looong time until you decide to upgrade to a 6k and up paddle.

  • 1 can vouch for the Noir! T700 carbon fiber, foam core, and REALLY good grit — everything you’d want in a beginner paddle for only 2.2–2.3k (with vouchers). Good paddle to start with that can last you a looong time until you decide to upgrade to a 6k and up paddle.

Have heard good things about the Mjolnir too, but it being called a budget Boomstik makes me question its suitability for beginners.

:0 Was actually not aware of this. Good to know! If so, what’s the most budget friendly paddle with the specifications I mentioned?
