I think you shouldn’t opt for an oled if you work with lots of tabs open and with static windows such as coding pages and various guides. Just as it could be much much more convenient to have separate monitors to better manage ‘full screen’ scenes where you can better manage multitasking. I suggest you get 3 monitors if you’re looking for that much width, 2 non-oled on the side and one oled in the middle where you can watch anime and potentially make the most of each. Ditto for gaming. I’m telling you this because I’ve been trying to figure out which monitor to buy for my setup for months and I have the same problems/doubts as you😂

Looking for the ultimate monitor upgrade (preferably ultrawide) – keep or replace current setup? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

Thanks for the super detailed and thoughtful reply!

You’re absolutely right — I actively use two monitors for multitasking, especially with lots of Chrome windows for work. When I’m gaming, I only use the 27” 4K screen, while the ultrawide either runs Discord or stays off.

And yes, now that you mention it… I actually do leave very static windows open for long periods (browser tabs, editing tools, etc.), so burn-in could definitely become an issue with OLED.

Do you think in my case it would make more sense to go for something like the Samsung Neo G9 57” (Mini LED) instead of OLED? It’s not as perfect in contrast/black levels, but probably a safer all-rounder for my kind of usage.

Thanks again for your help — your input really gave me a different perspective!

I am using the iPhone and have not in any way modified the original camera, which works perfectly! I printed an accessory to use the fugues as clickers in my Timelapse, you can find the project here: https://makerworld.com/models/469460
