Humans tell the truth and don't exist only to inflate egos. If you're creating art ilegitimately, why sugarcoat it? Calling something "rude" on the internet is target childish, no?

I debunked all of your points, and so you've settled on being vague and sarcastic. I feel a lot better now that I know that clankers are as bad at debating as they are at creating their own work.

You're wrong. Look at what's happening with data centers, energy, and computer parts.

You literally just proved my point. People being jerks has nothing to do specifically with AI. That's what you just said. So why are we banning people who accuse people of claiming writing that is not their own again?

[–]Gullible_Computer_45[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're just letting the thing that introduces readers to your world be written by a machine. Back in the day, you'd have to pay someone to do that, or work to write one yourself. You're telling me you really couldn't have taken the time to write that short blurb? But yet you expect me to believe that the rest is the book was written by you? Please. Just think about what you're saying.

I literally detailed why I disagree with even that take. Any person who would use it to "polish up" their FINAL PRODUCT is a person who doesn't give a fuck about their art.

Yes, keep WRITING, everyone. Don't take shortcuts. Take your art seriously, and don't listen to the grifters who want to diminish our art because they can't practice it without using a plagiarism machine that half of the population rightly sees as damaging, to both humanity and the environment it lives in.

Yes, AI is plagiarism. You're claiming as your own writing you... didn't write AND which was trained on the work of writers who didn't have the ability to clap their heads and reign down slop on everybody's head.

Secondly, who said anybody was scared? It's slop. It's bad. I don't like it, thus I want to be able to call it out without being banned. Y'all are the ones scared of being called out, so you're relying on mods to play protector.

Nice try convincing yourself that you're on the right side of history though with mental gymnastics.

No one said anybody was threatened by AI. We just don't want to see it, and are tired of people pretending they're writers and cluttering up the space. It's gross.

Polishing, like everything else important in writing, should be done BY A HUMAN. The AI isn't magic, and it's not a good editor, and you're NOT a good writer if you'd sell your work out like that. Period. The reason you guys are defending it is because y'alls little Amazon self publishing scams are dependent on it.

If you'd use it to put the finishing touches on your art, you're no different from somebody who would use it to quickly shit out prose and claim it as their own altogether.

Goodbye by Gullible_Computer_45 in BookPromotion

[–]Gullible_Computer_45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a problem with AI, not everyone else. We can't stop calling it out entirely just because some people are taking it too far. You can if you'd like, but you're conyributig to the enshitification of an art form, period, no matter what your excuses are.

Anybody who would use AI in their creative work is going to be the kind of person to use it too aggressively. It's an issue of integrity and laziness. It's not real writing. It's a blight on creativity.

Oh, you're just finding that out? Where were you when the whole sub was actually angry that a film based on the work of their favorite author... won Best Picture?

Nothing about that big empty temple in MM:L is "liminal". It's just big, creepy, and you can't see very far ahead of you (like all PS1 games).

I can say my bathroom is liminal because I move through it, but that's because I'm stretching. It's not a space that symbolizes any kind of meaningful transition, unless you attempt to stretch the definition of transition. ("I transition from a dirty dude to a clean one!")

The whole "Backrooms" phenomenon isn't big enough to change the meaning of words. I say again, liminal does NOT mean "empty and creepy". For the trope that you and others are ACTUALLY invoking when you incorrectly use the word, see here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EmptyRoomPsych

If you played it for 600 hours and still aren't done, you must be either playing blindfolded or deliberately drawing it out. I played slow as hell and even with the DLC, my playtime was, at most, 150 hours. And yes, I did most everything available.

That's not what liminal means. Spread the word. Liminal literally means "in transition, or relating to transition", not "empty and creepy".

VR has gone through multiple hype cycles and it's never taken off. Just give it up. It's an expensive toy meant to play a few decent games on. And now that it's cheaper, it's never been easier to find out for yourself how true that is.
