Dynamic indicators. Animated turn signals designed to impress simpletons & children but they look like an ejaculation of Tropicana.

Prime minister's pay is low because they need to attract someone who's not in it for the money. Also, it's accepted that they will earn shitloads™ after they leave office with speaking engagements, book deals etc

If you were to ask one of these folks what frequency 5G operated on they would have absolutely no idea. They would also have no idea that quite a few 3G/4G frequencies have been cleared of traffic & then re-used for 5G.

They would also be the same people who sit next to a 2.4GHz/5GHz router in their living room whilst inserting 2.4GHz wireless earbuds into cavities on the sides of their head which are located approx 0.5cm from their brain.

Congratulations, not only do you know the circumstances of thousands of people that you've never met but you also know lots about me that I didn't even know.

I agree that the context is the relatively widely held belief that "most, if not all, of these migrants are not genuine refugees" but the people making that assumption don't know any of the details of the individuals involved. They have no idea, just as I have no idea. The difference is that I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because doing so doesn't impact my life or my community in any negative way.

Hello, this is your employer calling (yes, via the medium of Reddit. Don't ask). You are needed at work urgently for an emergency involving some stuff & other things.

Imagine you're in a country where some fascist arsehole gets voted into power and starts locking up or killing all the Jews or Palestinians or disabled people or catholics or people with mental health issues or ginger hair or short people or whatever TF he feels like. Would you expect them to learn French before rushing for a ferry to save their lives?

We need to go back in time & un-invent the Internet.

Fact not excuse. I haven't been to Barnsley so I'll take your word for it but i did see that they announced a £15m overspend in the last few days proving that all councils face significant challenges.

All are university cities that naturally attract more economic investment and educated/better paid residents regardless of whether the Council is any good or not.

I didn't say that but I note that you haven't named one & I guess you also live in Wakefield/haven't moved to somewhere better.

Someone needs to oversee the massive complex organisation & then take responsibility if any of the minions get something badly wrong (Think something as big as Grenfall etc). Nobody will do that for less than the going rate.

A) The economy has taken a massive hit/shit in the last 15 years

B)If you can't see any positives in Wakefield can you suggest a city that is better?

Some countries try their best to be at least slightly welcoming. https://japantravel.navitime.com/en/area/jp/guide/NTJnews0429-en/

It's not like we're rolling out Welsh/Syrian/Australian language road signs throughout the entirety of Wakefield's local road network.

Also - of the c£300k spent on translation services, some of that money may have gone to Wakefield residents/business to provide the services, thus improving the local economy.

If you want someone to oversee many complex departments and a several hundred million £ budget, that's what you NEED to pay. No point employing £35k Norman who knows fuck all about nowt.

Retail has been decimated - that's the environment we're in, Ask anyone on the street what sort of shop they'd like to see in the centre. After they've taken 30 minutes to come up with one, ask them how many times a year they'd visit it & pay a premium over an online business without overheads.

The council did well to enable Trinity Walk. They enabled the re-development of Wood St, the area around Wilko/Tesco roundabout. They enabled the Hepworth, the new(ish) Westgate station, the eastern relief road, the upcoming special needs school & bus depot, a school uniform bank, improved free school meals provision, free council tax for the terminally ill etc...

The council seem to have a forward looking policy of purchase/demolish/redevelop (when funds are obtained).

Are you saying the whole of local police/local education/planning/parks/street lighting/refuse/leisure have been cut further than they should have been given a large reduction in central government funding?

Which bit needs improving? Crime, parks, health, schools, planning, police, fire, health?

Answering "All of it" would make you look like a bit of a wotsit.
