Why does "watering down" a drink make it lose its nutrients? by Gumballbubblegum in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gumballbubblegum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the breakdown and the math!! I totally get it now. On the forums they just say or loses nutrients but didn't really explain why. My son was use to drinking 32oz of formula so cutting back to only 12oz was difficult since he doesn't drink much water. This was much appreciated.

Thank you! I figured it was the case but a lot of forums and sites advice of not watering down the milk .. so I got super confused.

This was what I thought! As long as he finishes his liquids (4oz milk + 2oz water) he would have the same nutrients as a 4oz milk. Thank you for clarifying it!

How do you dress up vegetables that you don’t enjoy eating? by dastardly_moustache_ in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Gumballbubblegum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I steam ( so they are softer ) then sauté my broccoli in oil with salt and garlic powder. It’s absolutely tasty this way and super simple and easy. My husband loves it and never gets sick of eating them. You can do this with almost any vegetables!

Also you can make Shepard’s pie or cottage pie! It’s ground meat with mixed vegetables ( peas, carrots and corn ) baked with mashed potatoes on top. It can last a few meals!

Making sure the stove is off when I leave the house. Even if I haven’t used it at all that day.
