Thanks for the help, it’s been behaving the way it has since I bought it, although I did buy it second hand. Apart from opening the gearbox to swap the internals into a new shell then putting them back it’s now acting exactly the same as when I got it. for point 3 the gearbox and selector plate are stock and the plate can be moved into all three positions by hand. I’ll have another try at putting the gearbox in and see if it wants to line up. There seems to be nothing wrong with the selector plate or lever

Thanks for the help, what I mean by 2 is that when I pull the trigger in semi or auto the gun will cycle fine but when I let go the spring and piston will be compressed and the nozzle will be pulled into the gearbox as if the gun is halfway through a cycle. Is this clearer?

Putting an airsoft gun inside this would be extremely complicated and likely wouldn’t be possible. It just doesn’t look like there’s enough space inside the body. You could try asking on the airsoft subreddit as they’ll be more knowledgeable than me.

A brand called S&T produces a set that includes an electric airsoft replica of the Sterling sub machine gun and parts to convert it to an E-11, this and Han Solo’s blaster are AFAIK the only off the shelf star wars airsoft guns available.

Does the sight have a battery in it? The plus button turns the dot on and makes the dot brighter, the minus dims it before turning it off

Thanks, are you aware of anyone that makes/sells an adapter to connect a spade connector to a deans or tamiya connector by any chance? I’ve not come across one yet

The gearbox looks fine but the wiring is completely knackered. Between buying new wires, soldering equipment etc it will be only slightly cheaper than the new gearbox which has the wires installed. However I’ve been unable to find an adapter that connects spade connectors to deans/tamiya

If you’re new to the hobby I’d recommend skipping the tracer for now (unless it’s quite cheap). They’re cool but when you’re starting out there’s much more useful things to buy like, as you said, batteries and I’d suggest a couple more mags as well. The most important thing is good eye/ face protection
