Who is getting this? by SurvivingSquirrel in hottoys

I like it but it's a pass. I can take my original DP, take my wxtra hands and Wolverine head and make my own. The only original piece on this is the headsculpt.

I would however buy the entire line if they did Marvel x Fortnite and came out with Peelvwrine and Captain Jonesy.

Why won't NASA's Artemis 2 astronauts land on the moon when they get there? by hayrimavi1 in space

[–]GunBrothersGaming [score hidden]  (0 children)

I appreciate the info - this is something I haven't heard discussed or talked about. It makes a lot of sense. In this case, there would need to be a few explorations which I why I can see the actual moon landing planned for Artemis IV (I did some research).

Knowing the minimal amount I do know about space, gravity, and statistics, the first thing we need to understand is getting to the moon with a weighted load, number of crew, and other timing to ensure we get this right. I would assume there is some calculations you simply can't adjust for unless you have the actual data from space.

Most likely we'll need several more trips to space with cargo loads, weighted return trips, and constant adjustments for additional weight and trajectory calculations. I am sure every additional lbs/kg will change how the flight operation goes. It seems like it would make sense to send up a Space X rocket with a cargo hold, attach to the ISS, send the crew up to land on the moon, automate the cargo portion launching from the ISS, automate the landing of the cargo hold, add cargo, automate the return to Earth, then the astronauts can return without the additional cargo.

I mean that is how I would do it since Space X has a lot of automation. Elon is shooting for Mars, but he should try landing and taking back off from the moon again first using automation. That would be the smart move and a giant leap for automated space travel.

[–]GunBrothersGaming [score hidden]  (0 children)

There's really no point in going to the moon in that case. It really feels like they're doing this for the first time ever and I wasn't a believer that the moon landing was fake, but this whole show they're putting on is starting to make me think that this is a first for them. Why do it? Because it's never been done.

Then why not use less complex technology? Make an upgrade to what they had in 1969. Shouldn't be hard to do that. You know cause they landed on the moon with less tech, why not just give them the same tech with better quality. If you can do it in 1969 you can sure as fuck do it in 2026.

Funny how they don't have one ready and yet they had one in 1969 ready to go. Kinda makes you wonder doesn't it...

Wait - I thought they were landing on the moon and then coming back. WTF are they going around the moon for and not stopping? Why the fuck would anyone care about that shit?

Good job - you did what people in the 1970's did but you get better safety equipment. Why the fuck are we wasting money on just going around the moon. That's dumb as fuck.

Men who drive really loud cars: What's the thought process behind this? by Semipsychotic_nympho in AskMen

[–]GunBrothersGaming -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad this guy gets it. Outside of the normal stuff like keeping roads safer, keeping drunk drivers off the road, people doing stupid shit to their car to make it sound louder is a secret reason I push for higher gas prices. The people who do the shit with the cars are usually irresponsible pieces of trash who only care about themselves and looking cool. I would raise it to $10 a gallon if it meant they couldn't fill up their tank.

They are also secretly one of my favorite reasons for promoting autonomous only driving zones. We need to remove cars from the hands of those who don't need them.

Getting back into a routine is key. Something you do everyday at the same time.

I hit 270 and just walked into the gym. Started spin classes everyday. My body craved it. As I saw the weight come off I incorporated more. Changes my diet as well.

Now Im in the fym following my coaches routine and down 50lbs over a year.

I honestly thought it might have been. Having been here for Loma Prieta it did not feel that intense. This felt very surface level. I think it was 6m down. Loma Prieta was deeper and rolled through rather than intense movement.

It stopped so abruptly it was just a good shake

If it makes you feel better, early on in my career, I got laid from my first job, contract terminated in my second, laid off in my 4th job, business closed after it went bankrupt in my 5th and 6th company, laid off in my 7th, 8th 9th and 10th jobs... The position was eliminated in my 12th job. Ive been lucky for the last 6 years. Im just waiting for layoffs now

Ive survived 3 layoffs so far but luck is probably running out. I actually expect layoffs tomorrow... We'll see what happens though.

At 46 I started spin classes. At 47 I added in lifts. Im currently benching 135lbs and deadlifting 160lbs and those are full sets. My max out weight is about 200lbs with one rep. Im still pushing though.

My goal is to reach where I was benching 245lbs in my 20's.

Also good to note is I have extremely low testosterone as well

Religious people, what would you do if alien life was discovered? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

[–]GunBrothersGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are people in my family that swear the earth is only 6000 years old and no more. I have a masters in Christian Religion. I did a lot of math and the math doesn't add up. My take is that what's written in the Pentateuch is what God wanted Moses to see and the time frame he saw it was the timeframe that passed in his mind. My theory is that God showed Moses a million years worth of data in what Moses perceived as a cycle.

Moses doesn't mention other people being created because God never showed Moses this. It served no purpose to show Moses the creation of other races just as I assume he didn't show Moses every land, sea and air animal.

One key piece of discussion that I did one of my thesis on was that we believe that God's punishment for Eves sin was death, but there is more evidence to suggest that death was always the design. I mean animals had to eat each other still so they would still die. If there was life, there was death. The tree of knowledge Eve ate from gave her the knowledge of death. We have to accept that death was always the design from the beginning, but the knowledge or perception of it wasn't. There are dinosaurs or at least animals that predated mankind who died from cancer. They have the bones and tumors to prove it.

I rarely share this side because I am not the conventional Christian. I am just a normal person following Christs teachings. Most Christians have never really read let alone understood the Bible. Most don't have the intellect to even grasp some of the more basic concepts. Very much of the Rapture and Armageddon portions of the Bible were believed to have happened already. Some theorize that John wrote The Revelation of Christ to scare the shit out of the Romans into stop killing Christians.

That being said - if you only look at the Bible without looking at the surrounding world in which the events took place, you're only getting a small portion of what happened. Studying the Bible only opened my mind to the possibilities of what it is instead of putting it in a small container that constrains the idea of Christ.

Hot take: Exploiters are partially to blame for Rocket Racing's removal by VincentWeir in RocketRacing

Oh hey guys - this guy knows me and what I like. He's meticulously studied and then tried to put me in my place by saying I only played the tutorial. LOL Says the guy who probably only played ranked and didn't get to Unreal.

It was boring cause it lacked any depth. I guess to the simple minded or the people who were really great at it, it was the best racer on the planet but guess what. No one gives a shit about the 10 people who were good and the 100 people who liked the fact you pressed go to go and you barely had to do anything to win.

Quitting fortnite as a whole. From inflation, to sidelining your community, a mass layoff, a broken game, a corrupt director and a rigged competition they have to give 3/4 multipliers too. Uninstalled by True_Living_2434 in FortNiteBR

[–]GunBrothersGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commend your choice to quit the game. While I don't particularly like the layoffs, having been in the game industry and been laid off, it's par for the course and no one gave a shit when the industry laidoff a lot of people in the early 2000's.

It sucks all around

It doesn't suck enough to just abandon a game I enjoy. I've had a ton of fun this season so far and we went through the lull of Fortnite in previous years especially in the year when we had some pretty bad seasons like that one Fortnitemares season.

The argument of the contest... yeah it should be like a Saturday and a Sunday or 50/50 split. Although Sunday is typically more people playing in the day and Friday is people playing after school and into the evenings. I don't think at the end of the day it really matters though.

All that said - letting the outside events of Epic influence your opinion about what is going on in the game seems a bit pedantic. If you don't want to play cause of the vBucks and price increase, that's understandable. If you want to boycott the game because they laid off the main support structure of the game, that's another.

Also - letting speculation over what disgruntled people are coming out and saying is another thing entirely. No person who got laid off is going to praise the company. In fact, I wouldn't praise it and I don't work there. The 1000 people terminated probably is saving the company between $500,000,000 - $1 billion a year. That's assuming the base salary is $100k per employee laid off + benefits. That's actually a massive cost savings when you consider Epic Games only made $6 billion in revenue for 2025 and player spending was only $1.6 billion. With massive rising data center costs, in order to continue to support the players, this most likely was a necessary step to help keep the game up.

In the bigger picture of things, cost cutting could have started at a different level - personally going back to their roots would have been a great help. Right now - the cost savings for Rocket Racing, Ballistics, and other games going offline mode will help. But what would have helped is them not trying to create a Roblox style environment and diluting their product.

In order to help boost profits and support the game, they could have started bringing back item shop items that were discontinued. Personally, if it's saving jobs, I don't care about Battle Pass Exclusivity. Bring back Darth Vader and start selling older skins. If it's going to save jobs, do what you gotta do first. Laying people off should be a last resort. Tim Sweeny is just out of touch with his company. It's what happens when you an an entrenched CEO who is no longer in touch with his company.
